Oakland fans are delusional...

Mind boggling. Absolute garbage. Total crap.

And when did half of our starting secondary retire or leave? 4 people start in the secondary and one of them left. That isn't half. And none of them retired, which is also not half.

What reality is that guy living in?

well, he is right about the 'any given sunday', but other than that, this guy is nuts

"As for Buffalo, well, they don't have much of a team to speak of, so I have little doubt that Oakland can defeat them as well."
they seem like a decent team to me:rolleyes:

"The Raiders are a very fast and young team. Can the now-aging Chargers really keep up with this young and powerful offense that Oakland possesses?"
:wha:
oh, so if the chargers are getting old, the pats must be near dead.lol.

" That begs the question: Whom will Tom Brady throw the ball to? Well, NE could try running the ball, but they are not really known for their running game, and much like SD, there will be players waiting to deal with a mediocre running back."

Im pretty sure tommy can throw it to that guy named moss
and who the hell is he calling mediocre? Maroney? someone email this article to Maroney.

Assante Samuel, Eugene Wilson, Randal Gay, gone.
I think there will be little to no drop off but alot of that secondary is gone.
What he doesn't mention is the fact that Gay was at best a solid backup, Wilson hasn't been a factor for us unfortunately since 2004, Assante Samuel gave up some big plays as much as he made them.
Hobbs will be healthy, Fernando Bryant is solid, Wheately has exciting potential, Whilhite is no bum, Rodney is still there, Merriweather has one year in the system under his belt.
Oh yeah and jokeland Gaydars receivers are jokes.

Was this a blogger or was this an actual paid columnist? If it was the latter, that was the worst written and put together column I have ever seen.

About the only thing the author had right was "any given Sunday".
Too many holes to even bother with.

The "writer" is listed as being a "scribe." What is this?....the 16th Century?? Just some schmo who is attempting to invoke some excitement in Oaktown. Next...

Well... I'm glad he likes his team...

but he seems to be equally schooled in football as he is in English and grammar - which isn't much.

What a rockhead!

"In 2008, Oakland has a very scary secondary with Nnamdi Asomugha, and DeAngelo Hall at the cornerback positions, and Stanford Routt, Michael Huff, and Gibril Wilson rounding out a very fast and dangerous secondary."

It continually amazes me how people think a solid secondary(if Oakland's is really that) will stop a team's passing attack when the most important piece is the defensive line's ability to get to the passer. 7 times out of ten Brady will hook up with Moss in man to man with anyone in the league if he has enough time.

I'm glad you said 7 out of 10 times because Brady has actually shown to have a little bit of trouble against a fast and vicious secondary (see Chargers, San Diego). Not to say the secondary will beat him all by themselves, but they will give him problems. I guaruntee if that secondary stays healthy by the time we play them, Brady will throw at least one pick. However, that pick will come when we're already up 41-3 so it probably won't matter. :D

I'm not saying that San Diego's secondary isn't good, but also look at the Charger's defensive line and pass-rushing LB's. It is one of the best in the league.

Actually, I was talking about (J)Oakland's secondary there.
