I apologize for the outage. We were attempting to do a software upgrade, and ran into a software problem that caused us to have to shut the server down while we ran a restore after the back up completed. Technical support has resolved the issue and we're obviously back up and running, but I wanted to notify everyone as I'm sure you were wondering what happened. - Ian

Thanks for the FYI, Ian.

Glad the issue was resolved!! Good to be back.

Thanks Ian. Was starting to have withdrawal from dropping blocks, bouncing balls, flying penguins and not to mention the golf club flamingo! My eyes won't be the same until camp starts!!!!!

I hate it when that happens. Out back up is 800GB of data. Takes forever :)

I want my money back.

I'm running a vB upgrade to 3.7.2 this weekend. Can you PM me some of the problems you encountered? I'm curious to know what I should look out for.

Thanks!

They were server software upgrades, unrelated to VB. We ended up having another issue after shutting it down. When they turned it back on and restarted it, it apparently caused a problem which caused them to have to replace the power supply, which is why we were down for the last hour.

As for the VB upgrade, we still need to do that and it will be done this weekend with us as well. I'll let you know.

Very frustrating day

Ian

So, what happened?

wait, so why did the board not work?

im kidding

Well...at least the board is up and running...will the board be down this weekend OR only if there are more problems...just curious. Hopefully not, but if it's easier and quicker to do channges, software etc., pull the board down for a few hours..You do a great job!!! Thanks again for the update.

Worst day of work ever.

Appreciate the explanation, Ian.

Now the state police ought to put portable electric signs alongside
all those highway mishaps we crawl by, gawking.

thanks for the reply Ian. I'll let you know how ours goes. We're currently running 3.6.9

I tried to get on earlier today but couldn't.I figured that no one wanted to see my brilliant post so I played 18 holes of golf instead.

Well, I blame Ian for that as well. Ian, are you happy with yourself? ;)

My day was just the opposite. I got very little done because I had to keep going back and forth with support tickets trying to narrow down the issue. Then it came up, and went down a couple of more times...so just when I thought we we were all set (which is when I sent the email) we weren't....very aggravating. It appears that what they replaced did the trick, as the datacenter says that all remaining memory and hardware checked out fine when they ran the last diagnostics, so hopefully we're all set. - Ian

We experienced a hard drive failure last night, which required a complete hard drive replacement which involved reinstalling the OS onto the hard drive, and a complete data recovery. I've been told this was the real issue (which started yesterday), which is being completed. I expect glitches on and off for the next 90-minutes (it's 1:00pm ET currently), and then we should finally be good to go (for real this time). - Ian
