I wouldn't bother posting this story but it's the slow days of summer before training camp. Ahh, it just seems like yesterday when half of New Elngland was clamoring for Bishop to replace Drew Bledsoe as starting QB for the Pats. Now he's lost his job with some team called the Argonauts to some guy named Kerry Joseph.

Maybe we should take a look at him. He can't be worse than Cassel who only knows how to throw picks and almost ruined our perfect regular season last year. He has tremendous upside.

:D

Michael Bishop was the topic of debate on WEEI many times ... wonder what those blowhards think of their football smarts now?

I love Michael Bishop and always will. That long pass right before the half to Tony Simmons was such a beautiful 'what could be' moment.

He was hella fun to watch, you guys just hate black people.

Bishop came in during a time when it was perceived that a running style QB would be the way of the future. If I recall, Kordell Stewart was the rage then and Bishop was seen as a similar player. Both ended up sucking and the most successful QB's today are still the smart ones who have pocket intelligence, can read defenses and a quick release.

Kerry Joseph is the QB from the League Champs from last year. Who was proptly traded because of his salary. Interestingly, he played safety for the Seahawks a few years ago before coming up to the CFL.

Obviously the Argonauts are just clearing a roster spot for Brett Farve.

Bishop was actually only placed on retractable waivers. This was done to guage if there was any interest from any other team in the league to see if he has any trade value. He is dressed for the game this evening and is second string.

Maybe that said more about Bledsoe than it did about Bishop, being as it was in those dark pre-Brady days.

Nah, it said more about brainless fans who jump on the latest fad player bandwagon. I was one.

I remember when they'd bring him in for Bledsoe on third down, and that was always a sign for Lee Johnson to put on his helmet because he would be punting in the next minute or two.

He threw a pick 6 when the Pats were up by 4 touchdowns. That hardly counts as "almost".

Hmmm, I guess my sarcasm was only "almost" clear.
