The Patriots and the ESPYs

I love how the Pats aren't even in the category for Best Team. You gotta be kidding me..

I hear ya. I think they just put the teams that won their respective championship in that category.

Bro, I'm with ya. Just a little negative when it comes to ESPN. I agree, vote and hope for the best.

However, I don't think those folks are going to give Tommy anything after he said, "ESPN is like MTV without the girls".

Scottie, good point on that quote. I forgot about that. All the more reason why it would be GREAT if Brady won. :)

Well, the Celtics have to be a lock, because the freakin' Giants weren't even the best team in the NFC last year.

Don't start with the Flukebowl comments. I know they won and we all know how they won and they will always be remembered as one of the WORST teams to ever win a SB - That being said, I sure wish we had the 2008 hardware.

All true. You have to wonder if the Red Sox and Celtics are going to take votes away from each other. That's the one thing I'm worried about.

Ahhhh, true!

The Red Sox are universally loved, the Celtics are not. So I think it's the Sox.

Time is almost up on the ESPYs voting, friends. It'd be great if New England teams and players dominate this thing. Please vote if you haven't yet. We've got alot of candidates from which to pick this year.

Thanks.

Fellow PatsFanners, the Pats/Pats players are all over the ballot for the ESPYs voting, so don't forget to vote (in fact, the Patriots, Sox, Celts, and Revolution are all over it).

I know alot of folks feel that ESPN is anti-Patriots and that this would be a good way to stick it to ESPN. I just think it would be great to watch the ESPYs and see a constant flow of New England all night long. This could be a record setting night for us, so hopefully you'll all take the time to vote.

I have a better idea. Let's ignore the ESPY's and hope our local athlete's do the same.

I don't care if it's Tiddly Winks, I want to win! :) After all, we are from TITLETOWN, aren't we?

I just voted. Why not? I'll watch if Brady wins 1 out the 3 awards he's up for and goes to accept it, especially if he gets Male Athlete Of The Year. Moss is up with Brady for 1 award (Best Record Breaking Performance) and opposes him in another (Best NFL Athlete). He might also be there.

12 out of the 37 categories include New England sports teams. Josh Beckett is up for 2 (Best Baseball Player and Best Championship Performance), John Lester (Best Moment), Manny Ramirez (Hummer Like Nothing Else for his catch/high-five/gundown moment), Kevin Garnett (Best NBA Player), Celts/Sox (Best Team), Francona/Rivers (Best Caoch), Celts Gm. 4 (Best Game) and Matt Reis (the only goalie up for Best MLS Player).

Previous Patriots to win ESPYS are Belichick, Flutie, Bruschi, Brady and Moss (both won Breakthrough Player of The Year, although Moss was a Viking then).

I'm on board with the idea of NE sports love fest held by ESPN. For all of you "I'll never watch that channel again" people, get over yourself.

You douchebags should register and vote. It's really not that hard.

it is a dumb award show, i dont care who wins because it does not mean a single f-ing thing. no need to vote on it

If you haven't voted, but were thinking of voting, please do so. Let's hi-jack this show.

damn now i feel like a big idiot.

I bought tickets to go see the ESPYs live, they were like $700 a pop on EBAY.

i had no idea this many people hated the ESPYs.

OhExaulted, you are correct. Not that they are douchebags :), but that it's easy to vote.

No, you're right. They're not douchebags. But nonetheless ESPN is going to continue to be the major sports TV and Radio medium. I'm a fan of many different sports and I will still watch it for those reasons. I realize they've become extremely tabloid but somehow they manage to mix some sports in once in awhile.

That being said NFLN has drawn the ire of many here on many occasions. Should I stop watching them too? It seems like there are some on the board who believe we shouldn't watch or listen to any sports related medium whatsoever. I just get tired of the high-and-mighty sanctimonious BS. If you choose to not watch them that's fine. If your going to chastize other people because they do you're a, well, sanctimoniuos douchebag. Those who live in glass houses should only throw nerf balls.

If you people truly hate them you would vote just to turn it into a Boston love fest and force them to acknowledge our greatness. Make the rest of the sporting world and ESPN want to puke as Brady and Moss take away the hardware. That would be righteous.

Yeah, that's how I look at it. For those that don't want to watch, at least they can hear after the fact that the good guys did well. :)
