ESPN: Of 29 coaches, Brady gets 22 votes, Manning gets 6

It would be interesting to figure out who the six coaches were. My guess would be all the south coaches (Dungy, Del Rio, Kubiak and Fisher) as well as Shakenbake and Coughlin (he thought he was voting for Eli :p).

I've got to ask...

'Shakenbake'?

what a bunch of frickin morons.

Anyone who votes for Manning is either an Indianapolis coach, or the coach of a team who constantly get their asses kicked by Indy and they do this to feel better.

No football coach should EVER pick Manning over Brady.

This pretty much confirms why i hate just about everyone.

One head coach apparently wasn't taking the survey as seriously.

Why do I feel like Belichick voted for Jason Taylor?

All the sudden, there are 22 'genius' coaches in the NFL, and 6 dolts?

Shanahan. I picked it up from a friend who is a Raider fan who hates the Broncos more than I do (which is saying a lot) He got it because of the tan he has no matter the month (kinda like a cooked shakenbake chicken).

No suprise here. Brady just came off a record setting season. If this poll were done after 2004, even though we won the Super Bowl, Manning would get all of those votes. Record setting seasons have been known to skew poll results.
However, when Manning got his record, there was no Brady in the picture, statistically speaking. But now that Brady broke the record, its much more signifcant because Manning was only 1 TD behind Brady's mark-to-be and had a greater QB rating, and it all happened just a few short years ago. So I think this is significant.

I'd bet that BB never votes in these things.

Spoken like a true Colts fan.

I don't think anyone is saying that, I'm not.

However, lets say you want to know who the best player in the league is, who would you ask? Peter King? Fans? Please.

You would ask the Coaches. They did and that's what they got. Kind of hard to argue that, however I would love to hear your rational for debunking this black and white survey.

Despite overwhelming fan and media sentiment that they are virtually identical, apparently they aren't.

Better arm, better vision, better mechanics and footwork, better poise, better alluding the rush.

Where in the SKILLS department is Peyton's check mark?

One is better at reading progressions. One is better at making things happen when the original play breaks down. One is more consistent when the pieces around him are dropping like flies (see: 05-06).

We've seen the floor of both players....Peyton's is lower. We've seen the ceiling for Peyton, we've not yet even seen the ceiling for Tom.

I'm so sick of idiots asking what Peyton would do if he played for the Pats....well, for starters his stats would look a hell of a lot worse.

That's why you can't measure them with stats or rings.

Coaches see SKILLS.

The debate is over, and it's not even close.

Tom is the best pure passer most of us have ever seen (yes, that includes Marino or whoever).

It's always a good sign when Colts fans nolonger wish to discuss the better QB.

Yea, it's got to be tough when reality comes crashing down on them.

Seriously they win "Most Deluded"-hands down. Except for 2006, Peyton Manning has fallen short EVERY TIME and has consistently been a disappointment come crunch time. But Colts fans never see it that way for some strange reason. I don't care what his stats are or were-I don't care what an upstanding citizen he's portrayed to be. His overall body of work tells us he doesn't deliver, at least not consistently. 9 times out of 10 he was always the bridesmaid, never the bride. And all he's ever done is cry about it.

2006 was an aberration- a deviation from the norm, and obviously not a portent of things to come either.

I hate those guys.

I don't hate Colts fans, I just think Brady is starting to pull away and they don't want to hear it. Its not over yet though. Which reminds me, we have to put this "ManningvManning" superbowl thing to bed before the media gets wind of it and has an orgy.

Shouldn't the proper title for this thread be, "Brady cheats. Gets 22 votes that were intended for P. Manning?"

considering that the giants probably wont make the playoffs, I think that one wont last to long.
