Ten characters.

I hope he comes back.

Just to make one more tougher game for the Colts this year.

I feel so sorry for Aaron Rodgers. . . .

This will simmer over the long weekend allowing Favre to get maximum press.
Then he will announce it is all untrue even though he is the one that leaked it.

Then in a month, it will start again and he will announce his glorious return.

That sounds about right...

I'd be kinda ticked about this if i'm a packer fan or player. A kicker or role player can contemplate a comeback without really disrupting the chemistry of the team. The face of your franchise contemplating a comeback leaves the entire team in limbo while he makes his decision. A selfish move IMO.

That's Lord Favre for you. He's probably just looking for a way to skip training camp.

Far Fetched Conspiracy Theory: Favre and ESPN have been in cahoots the whole time, know that a "Retirement Tour" for Favre will bring big ratings. Why else would Monday Night Football have 3 Green Bay games?

This one could get juicy. The front office really doesn't sound like they want Favre back:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3471189

They shouldn't want him back......It is time to MOVE ON for Green Bay.......The Favre era is over.....and it is time to go forward........If they bring him back they will be the laughingstock of the NFL.....and their program is going to go backwards once again,.....The Packers with a very conservative Favre I might add, had a good year last year.....If he hadn't reverted to the gunslinger in the NFC Championship we may have faced them in the SB instead of the Gints.......now he needs to move on.....and go away.......Like someone says.....I would be pissed if I were Rodgers.....and would demand a trade if they do bring Favre back...

And now your starting quarterback for the 2035 Green Bay Packers...

Don't forget he's Madden's cover boy this year, oh noez.

Favre better sit out this year or the madden curse is gonna bite him in the ass...

jeez i hate Brett Favre with a passion.

hate him, hate him, hate him.

i hope one day it's really wet out, and he exits his house in a hurry and not very carefully, and then he steps out into the road without looking both ways, and then he opens the mailbox and sees that someone stole his mail and left a giant NFL-regulation-sized-football turd in his mailbox.

then he makes it back safely in his house. i guess.

Funny thing is that Packer fans are talking more about Aaron Rodgers than Favre. Apparently Rodgers said "I don't feel I need to sell myself to fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouth's shut." I'm surprised to see that Packer fans seem to think he should stay retired.

Perhaps they are getting tired of Favre's song and dance as well? Can't say I blame them. He's become the boy who's cried wolf with this crap by now.

Edit: I know the conversation section of ESPN's article are wasteland of trolls but one poster did make a good suggestion. They said that there should be a rule that if a player officially retires then they would have to sit out one entire season before contemplating coming back. I like that idea.

Favre to the Rats?

NFL Network's Adam Schefter suggest the Jets, Chiefs, and Ravens as possible landing spots if the Packers decide to trade Brett Favre.

Schefter strongly cautions that he's not reporting or trying to "rumor monger," but these would all be sensible landing spots. The Chiefs once traded for Joe Montana in a somewhat similar scenario. The Jets once thought they would get Favre, but settled for drafting Browning Nagle instead. In the end, however, Schefter says he wouldn't bet on Favre playing football in 2008.
