Whoa! Another guy well under life expectancy as if that means anything. Condolences to the Pires family & friends.

Holy cow. I used to e-mail with him a little bit. What a good guy and, once again, someone goes too soon. Damn.

RIP, DP.

That is too bad, I enjoyed reading some of his stuff.

I enjoyed readng his stuff. Good Writer.
Very sad.

That is so sad. My deepest sympathies to his family.

How awful! Thoughts and prayers to his family!

This is really bad news. He was a good reporter and a good guy. He was friendly with with many Patriots fans.

RIP Dan!

I'm in shock, total shock. Dan was one of the first guys I met when learning at the score in 2005. We were both southcoast guys and loved to talk about the new bedford area. As I moved up at the score before the March 10th demise I covered games, did the murphys report and became friends out of the media with him. I needed a job after the score went off the air and took one at a Shaws that he went to at least 3 times a week. We'd talk sports and life all the time, the guy became a close friend. I saw him saturday at the store, he came in and we talked some baseball. Can't believe this, I've talked to a few other media guys who are shocked too.

Yes...that is so so sad....I have seen him chatting with MrsB a great deal..and I KNOW others as well knew him. VERY sad...Although I never met him...I did enjoy his writing...Why is it the good guys usually go down like this. Condolences to his family.

That's sad. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

I always enjoyed his writing, and was pleased that a fellow New Bedfordite could do so well.

RIP.

He was really good to us as Pats fans.
We will all miss him.
This really does svck.
RIP Dan Pires.

Sad to hear. Way too soon. Must come as a shock to his family.

Very sad news. Adding my prayers for his family during this difficult time.

Wow, I've IM'd him in the past myself.

Very sad and very sudden. Very close to Alan Greenberg in age, too.

Really sucks to hear he passed, my thoughts go to his family. I know a lot of people say that and never mean it, but when ever I think of this it always tends to cross my mind for a little at the least. RIP.
