Lakers "fans"

I want to see Kobe crying!

NBATv nor ESPN showed.

My how fickle they are. "Kobe is not a leader". Wow. I knew I hated the Lakers for a reason.

Why? I'm not even a Lakers fan, but I fail to understand your thread.

They have the best player in the world on their team; a guy who just got them to the NBA finals, past the Spurs etc., with a bunch of mediocre players. One loss and they rip him to shreds. I didn't see Chargers fans doing the same to LT last year.

It's tough to rip effort on a guy when there is none to speak of. Im pretty sure LT rode the pine most of the game last year.....

Yeah I agree, I was just pointing out that Chargers fans didn't act the way Lakers "fans" did. Maybe it was a poor analogy. Colts fans didn't rip Peyton the way Lakers fans did. better?

Gotcha. But wont you find the same thing in any web forum when their team loses a championship? I recall some pretty disparaging remarks in this very forum about certain Pats players after your SB loss. It's the nature of the beast when your team loses something big. There are always going to be those fans that dont speak for the majority and are trying to place blame. I'm not defending it, but it comes with the territory.

They were pretty ****y through the first quarter. They didn't start to fold their tents until the Celtics bench started extending the score...

After that it got a little ugly, though most of the anger seemed to be directed at the Euroweanies. By the end those who hadn't bailed for the beach or Baywatch reruns were getting pretty wound up over the classless C's piling on (what is it about you left coasters and your delicate sensibilities...it's not like Phil never poured it on) and making predictions for 2009. I think those who expressed anger at Kobe were the ones who had convinced themselves that he was Michael. And he's not. He's a really strange guy who isn't wired like the rest of us. He's not terribly likeable despite his scripted efforts to become so. He can't play with a a big two or three mentality, and he can't win without one. Somewhere last night Shaq was snickering. The Lakers fans want him because everyone says he's the best. Unfortunately if he can't carry a team to a championship on his own, it won't matter. Some of them seemed to grasp the fact that absent a physical defense they may remain not only stymied by the east but in trouble against the Spurs when they are healthy. The West may have more offensive star power, but the East plays relentless team D.
