NFL sources told KRIV-TV (Houston) that free agent linebacker Rosevelt Colvin has reached a verbal agreement to sign with the Houston Texans. League sources told KRIV Colvin was en route Monday morning to Houston to sign with the club. Colvin is a nine year veteran. He played his first four years in the league with the Chicago Bears and the last five with the New England Patriots where he won two Super Bowl rings. Colvin can rush the quarterback from his linebacker position. He owns 52.5 career sacks including a career high 10.5 in both 2001 and 2002. Colvin had four sacks last year in eleven games with New England. The year before he registered 8.5. Houston Texans General Manager Rick Smith and Colvin's agent, Kennard McGuire, have not been available for comment.

Re: Colvin signs with Texans

Signing with the Texans is fine with me.......I can honestly say best of luck to you Rosie....Im gonna miss your ball spikes on opposing team logos. Im gonna miss you getting into Phillip Rivers head during ever NE/SD game...it was always priceless!

Re: Colvin signs with Texans

Good luck Rosie. Glad he's going to the Texans and not a more regular opponent. It took him so long to get signed I wondered how bad his injuries were.

Re: Colvin signs with Texans

Great news for him and us!

Re: Colvin signs with Texans

Good for him. I'd rather see him giving Manning fits than his teammate. I wonder if they will use him at DE or OLB.

Hope his injuries are not that bad, so he can harass Manning twice a year......

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

Best of luck to Rosie in Houston. He was a fav of mine, and he played well for us when he was healthy.

I hope he has a nice season for the Texans and helps to vault them to a wild card spot this year.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

That works out great. Wish him success.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

It's not just simply better than Indy, he now becomes a direct problem for Indy two times a year.

Texans are an up and coming team that will push for a playoff spot this year assuming Johnson can stay healthy the entire year. Had he been last year, I believe they would have had that #6 spot.

Re: Colvin signs with Texans

Great news for him and us!

Could not agree more.

Colvin has been nothing but a class act here as far as I am concerned. Too bad he was hampered by injuries, but when he was on the field he got it done. Thanks for the help on two SB wins.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

Good luck ROSIE!!!! I agree with many on here about that..may the Texans rise up next year!!!

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

I would like to pretty much echo what has been said so far. I just wonder how much of an impact he would have had on some of the games he missed. Oh well, I guess we'll never know.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

Glad to hear that Rosie has found a new home and that he'll be in Mannings face again. Good luck Rosie and Thanks!

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

Good luck Colvin.

Glad you chose Houstan and not indy.

You and Mario should make a good pass rush now go kill manning.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

I wish the best of luck to him and the hardest hits on Manning twice a year for the next few years.

Re: Colvin agrees to terms with Texans

Seriously. Just go run over Peyton with Mario.

So glad he didn't go to the Colts.

Definitely glad he won't be suiting up for Polian's gang of losers. It's a shame we couldn't work something out to bring him back, but since he's gone, I'm glad it's to a team I have no ill will toward.

Good luck Rosey, sack Peyton a lot!
