Yes, I remember when I had 3000 posts and I was waiting for the e-mail that never came. And then my posts disappeared. I still haven't figured out what happened. Was it something I wrote?

You responded to a thread including NEM. I think I lost about 6 or 7 hundred. I also lost a good 900-1000 when this board got flipped right before the 2004 season. That's why you never see any join date earlier than Sept. 2004.

Some posters have been on this site alot longer than that. IIRC I joined up in 2000 or 2001. Before that I was a regular on the "Official" site in the mid to late 90's until they flipped their board (I went under the screen name TheShadow). I was wrapped up in alot of things in 2004 and didn't rejoin until just before the SB and I thought I would loose my screen name because of the flip which is what happened on the other site and prompted me to join this one.

NewEnglandMike was a prolific (I can't really think of another word) poster who racked 20,000+ posts after the flip in like 2 years time. He had about that many before the flip (aldeit a great many of them in the Political Forum and before that the General Forum on the old version).

Seemed like a nice guy but I guess he flamed too many people. IIRC correctly he was in his mid to late 60's and a former journalist. I don't know how many words he can type a minute but he could throw out 6 posts in the time it took me to write this.

I believe he has been excommunicated from this site and all posts and threads he was involved in have been removed. That's not official and maybe someone can explain it better than me. I'm just going on my weak memory.
