In the Superbowl disappointment a new all time record was created by the Patriots.
They now have the two longest regular winning streaks in the history of the league.
Do y'all remember the buzz when the Pats set that record topping the Bear's long standing 1940 era record a few years ago? They tied it in the 15th regular season game, and extended the streak to 19 games, by winning their last regular season game.
They start off the season playing the Chiefs, Jets, Dolphins, and 49ers before tangling with the Chargers in San Diego. So they should be favored to raise the regular season winning streak from 19 games to 23 games, before they play SD.
If they beat the home favorite Chargers, they play the Broncos, in Foxboro, and Rams, before going to Indy to play the annual tong war with the Colts. They could raise the record to #26, entering the Colts game.
If they get by the Colts, #27, they would be favored in every other game the rest of the regular season, by my reckoning.
So how high could the Pats take the record? How high will it go?
Of course the KC squad could upset them in the opener, too. On any given Sunday...
What is your prediction?
