OK, who did it? Fess up.

$2 million jewelry heist includes Giants’ Super Bowl rings

ATTLEBORO - Thieves broke into a jewelry manufacturer over the weekend and stole up to $2 million in gold, gems and other valuables, including a number of New York Giants Super Bowl rings, police said.

The suspects disabled the alarm system at E.A. Dion Inc., cut a hole in the roof and made off with a safe that weighed at least 1,000 pounds.

The loss was discovered Sunday by a Dion employee, who went to the business when she was unable to access her work e-mail from home, apparently because phone lines had been cut. The heist could have taken place at any time over the weekend, Sgt. Jim Keane said Wednesday.

The Super Bowl rings, which were manufactured by the company, were to be given to the Giants staff to commemorate New York’s 17-14 win over the New England Patriots in February, team spokesman Pat Hanlon said.

The white gold rings — which were designed by Tiffany and Co. and valued at $25,000 — were exactly the same as the ones players and coaches received last month.

The team’s "NY" logo is set in round diamonds, while "World Champions" is emblazoned in raised letters on the top and bottom bezel, with channel-set diamonds on the left and right bezel. The rings also feature the team’s three Super Bowl trophies.

The company does not discuss specific customer’s orders, President Edward Dion Jr. said.

"We’ve talked to our major customers and let them know what happened, and I am confident we’ll be able to fulfill our orders," he said.

The family-owned company, which has been in business for 40 years, was back up running at full speed and re-evaluating security, Dion said.

The case remains under investigation by Attleboro police with assistance from the FBI.

ESPN will find a way to pin it on BB.

I heard Matt Walsh has video of the robbery.

I feel as if the only way that this will be resolved is if Specter is involved from the beginning. I hope that the Surveillance Tapes were sent to his office and not destroyed.

Amercia deserves to know the truth.

What goes around comes around.

They stole the rings from us so one of us steals the ring back.

Karma is a b!tch!

Perhaps, Giants should not have it in the first place?

Next week, these modified SB rings with Pats logo miraculously will be delivered to Pats office.:rocker:

I guess the player and coaches had already received their rings. These were for staff members.:(

Like they have anything else to talk about (NBA Finals maybe?)

Florio threw this on the very end of his story: The store is about 10 miles from Gillette Stadium, where the New England Patriots play.

Like writing that was necessary.

Super Bowl, the giants didn't win the Super Bowl.....Wanna argue with me.....fine we can argue....I want proof....Show me your Super Bowl ring.

Anybody want to buy a ring?? Brand new in original packaging??

Never been used and a gift all the way.

I'm very troubled by this. The poor Giants. Truly a Dark Day for the NFL.

Are you an idiot? - Its o.k. being a fan and a slight homer of your team but to wish bad things happen to the rings of the World Champion Giants who deserved to win and earn those rings and outplayed the Patriots (especially on the front lines) is pure stupidity.

Stop being a crybaby already and move on to 2008...

Some people were born without a sense of humor.

Hmmm, the value of those SB rings are now completely devalued.

Kind of like the Super Bowl victory itself.
