Did anyone else just see Doc's inspirational speech ... about the Colts???

I don't think he was a regular drug user. I thought he died the first time he tried coke (plus whiskey).

Yeah i thought i heard that he wasn't a druggie, but he just tried cocaine the night he was drafted and died.

that sucks.

(i could be way off)

You talking about Len Bias who Oded on coke?

Yes, Len Bias is a top 5 all-time player in the ACC.

I think PatJew is correct in saying that his cocaine use was (reportedly) his first and he was taking substances way out of his league. I think anyone who has watched ACC basketball can tell you the 'all-time' discussions start with David Thompson, Len Bias, and of course, MJ. Head to head, Bias outperformed MJ in some epic battles.

No Keegs, you are right on.
That is what made it even harder to accept. He was not L.T. or Roy Tarpley.
SI did a nice story with him on the cover...I had it in my 'scrap book' of Celtics SI pictures.

Nice speech Doc.

Oooo the irony

Oh my God.
This is looking like a melt down far beyond the AFCCG 2006.
Doc Rivers may be the worst coach in all of sports.

OK, thank you jeebus for letting us get that one.

Not pretty, but I'll take 2-0 any day.

Keegs,
We are having surreal weather conditions in the Northern Suburbs...something strange in the air with this game.

Agreed. I am just happy to have 1 more game (at least) at the Garden.

Say what?

I'm hopeing they have no more games in the Garden this year.

Must have had something to do with getting the refs to completely call the game one way....

(even Celtics fans can admit that game was a tad bit biased)

I agree but fully expect the lakers to get the calls at home. We only have to steal one game there and wrap this baby up in game 6 at home.

I was trying to reverse jinx us for next week. I'd be happy to win in 4 or 5. But I feel Kobe will not let that happen.

Um no. If you know anything about Basketball and watched the game, the calls were mostly good and thats significant because the refs are almost always bad and often times terrible. Worst officiating in professional sports.

The Lakers shoot jump shots, they are too soft and rarely take shots inside. They wont draw any fouls by taking safe jump shots. The Celtics drove the ball inside with their big guys and the Lakers have a soft defense and they couldn't compete against big guys like Leon Powe. They hacked at him whenever he went up for a shot inside and thats why the C's got so many fouls.

If the Lakers want more fouls to go their way they should stop being so soft and drive to the basket. Its irrelevant anyways. Due to Phil Jackson's complaining you know the officiating is going to be terribly biased in the Lakers favor Tuesday night.

And EVERY game is a bit biased. The home team always gets more favor from the refs, thats no secret. The officiating tonight was pretty fair.

Kobe scares the hell out of me.

My favorite chant evah happened at the Gahden in Game 1: "No Means No, No Means No, No Means No".

That's an awesome pissah chant.

But seriously, folks, BabyDoc's lack of team intesity control from quarter-to-quarter is shocking and appalling. If they pull that shyte at LaLa land, they'll return to Boston down 3-2.

I just hope I don't hear complaints about biased officiating in LA...

Spoken like a true, rose colored glasses, east coast fan. Cheap fouls on Kobe, no calls when they went inside, so they settled for jumpers. The thing that stinks about the NBA is that there really aren't any teams to cheer for.
