Q: There was a radio interview a few weeks back where someone said you didn’t respect the Jets or something like that. Could you just clarify that?
TB: I have a great deal of respect of the Jets. They’re my favorite team in the league other than the Patriots. I love those guys. They’re the best.

From today's interview. I think he is BSing us.

I would be so money if Belichick came out and said the same thing about the Colts. Word for word.

Having heard the radio interview on WEEI during the Big Show I know exactly what Tom said because I heard it with me own ears.
Tom Brady is BS'ing like the great politician he is.
"They're my favorite team in the league other than the Patriots"?
"I love those guys"?
"They're the best"?
Uh huh!!!

It is well known that Brady loves everything New York.

Saying that the Franchise would lie about something as important as his love and respect for the Jets is just irresponsible and as silly as saying that someone like me hates the Pats.

That is true. He is fond of Manhattan and the Bronx bombers. However, his utter disgust for that waste dump of a state known as New Jersey is equally well known. One layover in Newark is enough to hate the New JERSEY Jets.

LOL, well played.:)

You have to read the subtext. Playing the Jets is like a bye week. Gives them a chance to rest up and plan for the next team. :D

Brady ready to go
By Paul Perillo, Patriots Football Weekly

Tom Brady addressed the media for the first time this offseason as the Patriots minicamp continued in Foxborough.

...

While there’s little doubt the events of the past few months have troubled members of the Patriots organization from top to bottom, they seem to have done little to disrupt its leader. During a radio interview to promote a charity event last month, the quarterback indicated that he didn’t like a certain team that wore green uniforms and played in the AFC East very much. Asked to clarify, Brady once again took the comic route before following up with a slightly boastful remark.

“I have great respect for the Jets. They’re my favorite team in the league. They’re the best,” he said with tongue planted firmly in cheek. When asked if he felt the gap between the teams was closing, the tone changed a bit.

“We won every game in the division last year so it couldn’t be anything but closer,” Brady said flatly.

...

Clarification.. a wonderful thing.

"When asked if he felt the gap between the teams was closing, the tone changed a bit.

“We won every game in the division last year so it couldn’t be anything but closer,” Brady said flatly."

God, he is good...

The stuff that comes from the top of his head just cracks me up.

Newark is one of the worst places on the planet, but the rest of New Jersey isn't bad. Some places are actually very.very nice.

I love the Jersey shore, but I was responding to a Jets troll. Thanks for playing. :bricks:

That's great - sometimes the best insults are the ones where you kill them with kindness... I'd chalk it up that way as well.

Brady obviously like NYC on a number of different levels - he'd previously been able to "get lost" there in a way he couldn't in Boston or New England generally, his girlfriend lives there, and I think he's good friends with Derek Jeter and respects him as an athlete (as do I even though I'm a die hard Red Sox fan) - but I doubt that extends to the Jests.

I hear Tom wants to be traded to the JETS! Yup, you heard it here first ;)

Only a matter of time before ESPN.com runs the headline,

"Brady hates New England, requests trade to Jets"

That's awesome. I'm tellin' ya folks, unless injuries get in our way - This team is going to lay down some serious beatings.

When you have a Three time Super Bowl Champion, Two Time MVP, Current MVP of the League and Future Hall of Famer saying that about a specific team.........that's gotta hurt.

He's the best there is! I can't wait for training camp!

I LOL'd at 'They're the best'

Brady respects the Jets big time, he even named his kid after the J E T S.

John Edward Thomas, is I beleve his first borns name.

Why would he name his kid that if he didn't love the Jets.:)
