For a guy who I have a gut feeling that he will be a bust in the NFL ,This kind of contract is a good reason why there should be a cap on what you can pay a rookie,I bet some of the top veteran all-pro RBs in this league will not be paid what an unproven rookie like McFadden is getting - Simply ridiculous.

No wonder the Raiders have not been a contender since 2002.

Re: OT: Raiders sign McFadden for 6 years 60 Million - Can you say overpaid?

I think it's too late to do anything about it now. This is a problem that should have been corrected long ago. You know that if a QB gets drafted No. 1 next year, we're going to see an even bigger contract than Matt Ryan's.

You know for some reason I can see a team trying to get a player in position to be THE guy which of course is the QB and the most important position on the team IMO and paying him alot of cash like Ryan got and hoping he will be another Brady is a gamble but worth a shot, but a 60 million dollar rookie RB? - You have to be kidding me.

I agree, but it'd be tough to get a rookie player and his agent to agree to get paid less than a rookie player did a year earlier. Especially if they were drafted in the same spot and played the same position. Eventually it seems like the Players Union and the NFL are just gonna have to say these are the rules. No questions asked.

I don't even think Ladainian Tomlinson is worth $10 million a year.

I highly doubt McFadden will ever be worth that contract.

Hopefully, the Faiders will realize they made a huge mistake when McFadden runs completely upright and gets his head taken off.

If a player litteraly gets their head taken off, does the team still have to honnor the contract?

Just half of it.

The team would be fined for a uniform violation because the player would not be wearing a helmet.

At least they didn't let him sit out, miss all of training camp, get him signed up around September, let him play around week 12.....and give him 60M like they did with their last #1 pick.

McFadden will never be worth that contract.

Good luck to him, lets see if he's worth it....until then, not much to say..

Oakland can have quite the offense in the upcoming years if Russel and McFadden actually play near their expectations.

Their defense is very solid, if these picks pan out I see them as a team on the rise.

I know Ryan and McFadden were picked at 3 and 4, but don't these contracts make you a little worried about the effect they could have on negotiating Mayo's deal? It's been a while since we've had to shell out top-10 money, and when we took Seymour, the contracts weren't quite this ridiculous.
