Re: USA Today:What's wrong in New England? Pats' bad luck keeps growing

Dallas: Pacman Jones, TO, Romo (his Jessica Simpson stuff is the same as Giselle for Brady), Ellis is biatching, Terrance Newman is callign Roy Williams soft

Tampa Bay: Garcia is threatening to retire because he is disrespected, Jerramey Stevens is in trouble again, Bradkowski is cut and uncut

The Chargers: Half their LB corp have been caught taking steriods, former Charger's dog attacks a woman

Indy: Harrison may be charged with attempted murder at some point

Miami: The Jason Taylor saga, Will Allen getting into a brawl outside of Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Should I go on? I am not happy about the Patriots problems, but there are plenty of teams with their own problems.

How did you determine that we were pretty high on the list?

I see no evidence of that at all.

In fact, Faulk took a drug test and came up clean. There are no charges pressed against him.

So, so far, we have Kaczur and Andrews getting in trouble with the law. 2 players.

In previous years we've had one player MAX.

This team is SQUEAKY clean.

I guess I don't get your original point. I guess you were agreeing with me rather than arguing which what I assumed.

I'm talking about in the five months since last year ended, we have two players in trouble with the law. That's a whole lot compared to our past years and more than many other teams so far this year.

Re: USA Today:What's wrong in New England? Pats' bad luck keeps growing

why does everyone feel the need to post such bullcrap??? what does it prove?? does it make the poster feel good??? i dont get it , its like people troll the world newspapers looking for something negative, then finds it and runs and posts it , and they say huh, huh, i did it, i have one thought for all you negative press posters, GET A LIFE

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAMEN Patsgo!!

This board has more than it's share of members who have come to love controversy and even "gossip"...yuy, you heard me right, I said "gossip".

You know, the stuff that only ****ies like to talk about. Well, we've sure got our share of gurlie-man ****ies around here I guess. You can watch them all circling every single time there's a "possible story". They get all excited and start doing their own investigative work like making phone calls and such to all their "connections".

Look!!! There they go again circling around Nick Kaczur!!

As a true Patriots fan, I always knew it was impossible for us to have "better" character guys than the other teams. We were just lucky for a while. Personally, I don't care if our guys act any "better" than other teams guys cause they're not any better.

You might want to look at this post again and re-think your position.

Re: USA Today:What's wrong in New England? Pats' bad luck keeps growing

We always have bad luck because people find negative things to say about us all the time. Why don't they leave us alone.?

i don't mind them compare us to somebody better. When they compare us with some crappy team or players, i'm speechless.

When you're on top, you have to get used to this stuff. I'd rather be under constant attack on top of the leauge than be on the bottom and left alone!

Re: USA Today:What's wrong in New England? Pats' bad luck keeps growing

What's wrong in New England, as seen by a Steelers fan.

Well, they could use a little help in the linebacker corp. The current linebackers are grizzled hard and smart veterans, but age may be catching up with them. Some injection of youth to spell some of the vets on 3rd downs and later on in games that the Pats have in hand, will do wonders for the longevity of their success in the 2008 season.

The Secondary could also use some better talent, as the loss of Asante Samual could be a major loss for that defense. However if Rodney Harrison is coming back, his leadership could be enough to keep the NE Defense among the best in the league.

Offensively, they Still have Tom Brady under center, a very good strong running back in Maroney and the ever reliable Faulk for those key 3rd down plays. Also, Moss is still on the roster and as long as he demands double teams, defenses around the league will be in trouble.

So what's wrong with New England...they are on my schedule again and they are still the team to beat in the AFC, that's all I see wrong.

But its easy to sell papers and have people read your articles when you are talking about something that touches on the negative emotion held by fans around the league.

You're right Dino. I guess all fans like to think of THEIR team as the guys on the white horses wearing the white hats. You're no different and I'm no different. When all is said and done, NFL players and team rosters are a crap shoot as far as character goes.

And neither of our teams are in the business of character building. So why do fans expect sparkling clean guys? These are not men of God preparing for a crusade.

Re: USA Today:What's wrong in New England? Pats' bad luck keeps growing

Troll...

How many more arrests?

We've had two over the last several years.

Are you serious?

Troll becuase I only have 10 posts??

I think there are valid points there. If I wasn't so sure of the organization's competancy, I would be concerned over the number of negative issues around the Patriots over the last year. The NHL and its teams are a brand and all this stuff has its effects.

Not a big deal...get over it.

Marijuana charges? It wouldn't bother me if 10 of our guys had reefer charges against them. I don't even consider smoking pot a crime. If my elderly mother & father smoked the stuff, it wouldn't bother me.

So let's not even count "marijuana" charges at all.

I just want football. That's really it. I love talking smack, but my smack isn't going to be "you guys are all criminals" cause the Steelers have never been choir Boys. You don't get the name Mean Joe Greene because you're nice to people. I'll talk about records and games and plays that made me go, "holy ef" while watching them. I want college football back, pro football back, and on my TV all the time. Bring it on. I don't really care who's on my team's schedule, I want to watch my team, do its best, bring the heat, never back down and get victories, or if its a loss, at least lose with dignity and no regrets. I don't care if some guy smoked weed, or had a pain pill addiction, get help, move on. What do you do on the field? How did you perform on Sunday?

That's what I focus on, well that and making fun of Browns fans cause that's just a cheap easy good time.

My original post was really just a reaction to those who have the "the world is out to get the Patriots" mentality. I personally didn't find the article all that inflammatory (except for the Brady kid part) and it was at least based on facts as opposed to a lot of the garbage that has been written about the Pats the last 8 months or so.

More than any other team? Really?

so no other team has had two incidents.

Not to mention that one of these was painkillers, something we "know" is prevalent in the NFL.

MANY, ANY. I can see how that'd be misread. Carry on.

Come on. The Pats had two pot possessions and illegally purchasing prescription drugs. The Texans had one of their players trying to choke his pregnant girlfriend. The Saints have someone charged with involuntary manslaughter. The Colts may have someone charged with attempted murder. Let's put things in perspective.

I am not going to excuse Faulk's, Andrews', and Kazcur's actions, but I am not going overboard to blow what they did into the Patriots being a bunch of thugs or there is a serious problem. You look at the police blotter of most teams over the last year or two and most have several arrests.

No one is saying the Pats are The Mean Machine, the writer is just pointing out that this seems out of character for a Patriots team. However, I think a lot of that has to do with the extra scrutiny we are getting following SpyGate.

Our crime rate is possibly the same as in years past, I don't know, but everyone will be looking at our team different because of our success these past few years, and unfortunately because of SpyGate, the perfect regular season and the Super Bowl loss.
