I know this is a Patriots' site, but with ESPN clearly being, let's say, a bit on the Anti-Patriots side of things, I thought this was interesting.

Their NBA Experts see the Celtics - Lakers series like this:

Abbott - Lakers in 5
Adande - Lakers in 6
Broussard - Lakers in 7
Ford - Lakers in 6
Hollinger - Lakers in 6
Rose - Lakers in 7
Sheridan - Lakers in 6
Stein - Lakers in 5
Thorpe - Lakers in 6
Legler - Celtics in 7

I'm just sayin'....................................................................:)

If you're looking for a creative way to get back at ESPN, I have an idea. There's another thread on here about this, titled Help out a Young Patriots Fan... It's about my son, Craig, who is one of 5 kids nationwide nominated for the first Youth Achievement ever to be presented in conjunction with the ESPYs this summer. He plays Pop Warner Football for the Franklin Chargers, is the only football player in the running, and the only contestant from the Northeast part of the country. Think about how much they'd hate to have to present the award to a football palyer from New England!!! If you'd like to help out, go to www.espn.com/earnyourstripes or https://r.espn.go.com/espn/specialsection/kelloggs/and vote for Craig. Voting is ongoing through June 15. Public may vote once per day, per computer. Everyone on this board has been very supportive. He's currently in 3rd place, but it's a close race.

:)

It isn't interesting.
Lakers in 6 or 7 is reasonable.
You are looking for something that doesn't exist to prove your bias.
This is what Pats haters do also.

Dude, even Bill Simmons...Bill FREAKIN' Simmons...Digital City's own Boston Sports Guy...said there was no way the C's were beating the Lakers.

I don't agree with him, but it seems to be popular. It's no big deal. They're looking at how Kobe is playing right now and that the C's needed 7 to beat the freakin' Hawks. They're not looking at how dominant the C's were against the west this year.

Bill Simmons has not represented Boston for a long time. He's just another blogger now. He's a Clippers season ticket holder living in LA, he's out of touch with the Boston sports scene, and he's picking the Lakers over the C's. He doesn't rep Boston.

Because it is reasonable to you or I does not mean there is only one opinion. Reasonable favorite does not mean a lock. If you are trying to say that ESPN talking heads do not jump on bandwagons and totally favor a given team or player, or are totally down a given player, you are simply wrong. They are not analysts, they are entertainment whores, jacking for the biggest audience and the most attention.

.

Umm, a fan by definition is biased. If you don't favor one team over another, you enjoy the sport or whatever, but to be unbiased is not to be a fan of a team, Pats or Raiders or Falcons or Colts.

This is what Pats haters do also.
Yep. Pats haters have a bias, also. They have a right. Pats fans have a right to take note of it. I'm sorry this somehow bothers you.

I may be from Boston...and I may come off a little biased...but the Celts are taking this thing, no question. Anybody that reads Bill Simmons knows he is trying to jinx the Lakers. Not that I buy into jinxes, I'm just pointing out the obvious. He feels responsible for the Pats SB loss because of his DUMB articles proclaiming victory a month before the playoffs began.

Now, the Celts are a better team, period. The Lakers will have their hands full with the Celts "D", and if the Lakers couldn't beat the Celts this year with Bynum...they aint going to with with P.G. Also, there is no way the Lakers are going to stop the Celts offense. Heck, if the Pistons couldn't do it being one of the top defensive teams in the league...how are the Lakers expected to?

I am not going to throw out a number games this series is going to go...but the Celts are taking it.

That all may be true, but it has nothing to do with any alleged hate of the Patriots.

There is no bias to take note of.
Picking the Lakers does not = bias.
The world does not revolve around Boston.
Coaching alone would make anyone trying to be fair to pick LA
Homecourt is the Celtics only hope.
I am sorry this somehow bothers you, but hey we are from Boston and it is our God given right to win Titles and anyone who disputes this is biased.

if you are saying that every "EXPERT" at espn picking the lakers does not mean a bias against the c's, i'll agree.
if you are saying that espn has no biases, your head is buried somewhere.

I'm just sayin'....................................................................:)
legler has been with the celtics all year. hes wrong. its celtics in 6. all the so called experts picked the pats in the SB and we know how that turned out.

I just voted for Craig. Best of luck. He's an eyelash back, so I hope he gets a big flood of PatsFans voters to help put this young New Englander over the top.

Very well said Spacecrime. VERY well said!

Speaking of ESPN... I liked this part of Bill Simmons chat today :)

Matt Walsh, From under some rock: Ok what if I said that I have a tape of the entire Patriots team clubbing baby seals. Would that keep me in the limelight for another week?

Bill Simmons: (1:49 PM ET ) You're leading TMQ this week!

If the Lakers continue their level of play in the Finals, this could be Lakers in 4 or 5.

Agreed, and I bet this is the same reason most of the experts are picking them also. If the Lakers had struggled in every round and the Celtics breezed through their rounds, I'm sure their opinions would be different.

First of all the Patriots are not the Celtics and I don't know how ESPN taking jabs at the Celtics is in any way related to the Pats. The Celtics have been ESPN's darlings all year.

LMAO! So, if the Celtics shut their offense down, does that mean the Lakers haven't continued their level of play? If anyone is going to take it in 4 or 5 it will be the Celtics. Your saying that L.A. will take the the first two in Boston, not happening.
The Lakers have a heck of a scorer in Kobe. The Celtics have the defensive player of the year in Garnett, whats more, unlike past DPY, he is tough to stop on offense. Which Laker is guarding him? Paul Pierce has turned on the defense and is one of the best defensive performers in the playoffs, he also is almost automatic when its crunch time. Which Laker is guarding him? After a slump, Ray Allan is hitting again, not a great defensive player, but has made some nice plays during the playoffs, more importantly............which Laker is guarding him. Rajon Rhondo is still learning, but even when he has lapses, he's a very good defensive player. Defense wins championships. CELTICS in FIVE!
Laker hype, saw it in the 60's and the 70's, and its still spewing. Another article today, one the all-time Celtic team vs the all-time Laker team. Nine out of 10 replies were how the Lakers would burn the Celtics..........just like all those championship years in the 60's.

You haven't learned. Let them play one game before you set yourself up for heartbreak.

Do I take the 12-3 playoff team out of the better conference or the 12-8 team that couldn't win in Atlanta? Hmmmm.

How did the Celtics do on that West coast swing in which they were supposed to lose big time? Do you think Atlanta was playing like a last seeded team? That Atlanta team would have taken it to anyone. They hadn't played together all year (trades/injuries) and were jelling at the right time. I don't think the Celtics matched up well against them, but I also don't think they were a bad team. I'll take the team which swept the regular season series, Gasol helps, but not that much.
