One year later and not peep on Hill in the Herald or Globe

I wasn't expecting to see to see a 2-hour special on ESPN or NFLN on the life and death of Hill. Although I do expect we will get that regarding Taylor on the one year anniversary of his death.

But not a word in either the Globe or Herald making the one year anniversary is disgraceful.

A 2 Hour special would be way too long - maybe a 5 minute tribute would have been nice,after all even though he was a great human being unfortunately to the sports world he was not well known.

Perhaps the New England Patriots should have released a statement to draw some attention to Hill's memory. Many athletes die of non-sports related causes, but only the 'great' players get remembered for it (I am not supporting this, but it is what it is).

Maybe the Pats did something nice for his family to remember him on his anniversary but don't want to publicize it.

That sounds more like them. For all we know, the family may have requested something small and private as opposed to a big story. One year is a long time, but not long enough to have healed just yet.

That has to be it, I doubt that the Patriots did nothing at all. As you said the family probably just doesn't want everybody talking about it again.

I'm not so sure I agree with this. There are many people more "high profile"/influential whose untimely deaths are not commemorated a year later. I think it boils down to sentimentality more than "what's proper." For we Pats fans, it's important to preserve Hill's memory, especially since he died under tragic circumstances. But I don't think it goes far beyond that, and doubt that it really should.
