Without resorting to Wikipedia or other sources . . .

Which player did BB draft with a pick that he traded away to one team on draft weekend, only to receive it back from a different team in another trade also on draft weekend? [For bonus points, which teams?]

No clue , just will take a stab at it.. Bethal Johnson and the dolphins??

For some reason I feel this happened in '03, so I'll throw out the guess of Dan Klecko.

Was it Eugene Wilson? I seem to remember them trading back in the second round that year, then trading back up to pick him.

Can't be. He was taken with the 1st pick of the 4th round, I"m pretty sure, and that one didn't recycle to them.

It was a mid-round pick. Definitely 2-5, but I want to say 3rd or 4th. I remember it happening. Must've been 2003-05. But I can't remember more than that about it.

But not to the same pick. As a possible slight hint, let me make clear what happened: the Pats traded this pick to team A. Either directly or indirectly, team A traded the pick to team B. Team B then traded it back to the Patriots, who used it to take player X.

In 2003 I think every pick but maybe one came about through a trade. Huge amount of draft day moves...

That's the draft I would guess the first move came from, giving up a future pick that they later got back. No idea who was involved though.

Klecko was taken with the 20th pick of the 4th Round, pick 117 overall.

I looked it up, I won't spoil it for everyone, but I will say that my guess of Gino was wrong.

Also if (like me) you can't stand not knowing you can look it up on the Patriots.com historical draft/trade site:

http://www.patriots.com/history/index.cfm?ac=drafttrade

If I'm remembering correctly, you had the wrong player, but right position....That pick got passed around more often than Tara Reid at a quarterback convention.

IIRC the Raiders were involved........I hope.........

Ok, I looked it up too and I can honestly say that I would never had guessed it in a million years.

Note to ctpatsfan77, you might want to give more specific clues like who were the other players involved in the trade to get that revolving door pick or at least the year. It is your game so I don't want to screw it up by giving clues out on my own. But I don't know if anyone will get it otherwise since we have made so many trades over the years.

I looked it up; that pick only went NE -> team A -> team B -> NE, as opposed to a pick in the 2005 draft that changed hands five times. . . .

I at least said it was in the BB era. :)

Seriously, though, if no one posts before 9 PM or so, I'll give some more clues.

Was it Matt Cassell? I think I remember reading someone using that pick as an example of how convoluted trades can get.

hmph, my bad. I thought we traded up to get the 1st pick in the 4th to get him. Did we do that in another draft for another player, or am I just completely off-target here?

Since no one's posted the right answer yet, I'll add two clues: first, the trades involved one AFC team and one NFC team, and, second, those trades also involved second- and fifth-round picks.
