Colvin/Colts marriage imminent?

I agree, except he was hurt for about 50% of his games for us, so if he signs with the enemy, I have to hope he misses AT LEAST 50% of the games for them too...but for as class a guy as he was, I just have to hope it's little, niggling injuries that bother him just enough that he can't play to his potential and he keeps getting paid (and eating up their cap space) while he is ineffective. Sort of like I'm sure every Dolt fan hoped while he played for us. And regardless of his hometown affiliation, don't pretend for a second that the Dolts fans didn't cheer like crazy when one of our free agents went down with what could have been a career ending hip injury. I only wish their franchise the same, but I hope for the man he comes out of it paid well, and producing little. Hope that made sense.

It's a terrible thing that Colvin had a career threatening broken hip his first season with the team and then a career threatening foot injury to end his tenure with the Pats, but that doesn't change the fact that he played in 69 of the possible 94 games the Patriots have played from 2003 to 2007 (or over 73%).

I don't know why Pats didn't make any effort to keep Colvin because he has been with us sometimes.? I don't care where Colvin or any pats player want to play but what i'm concerned is he will share our 'secret' system with another team because he had been in this system for years.

Good correction - I hope he misses at least 27% of his games with them then. I like the guy, if he plays anywhere else, I'll root for him, but if he goes to the enemy, I hope he's worse than he was here. I don't hope for him to be seriously injured, but I hope for him to be dinged up enough that he's at least as much of a drain as a producer...and eats up cap room while he's at it.

When has BB and BP ever let a good player go unless he was demanding more money than he is worth. Passing a physical and being 100% are two different things. Let the Colts eat up their cap room on him.

I wish him the best..he's a class guy...I think it is that simple. And he owns a UPS store in Indianapolis (I think his mom runs it), and is there in teh offseason. No Problem at all with the fact that he's going there. Would I have wanted elsewhere? Of course, because I coudl actually root for the team he was on but..hard to when it's the horse shoes.

This is terrible news, Colvin was our best pass rusher over the past 3 years. If he goes to the Colts, I'm not saying the power of the AFC shifts to them or anything, it just adds to their depth and strengthens an already legitimate super bowl contender. Hopefully he wants the dough and not the overrated hometown location.

Eh. If he was great the Patriots wouldn't have let him go without a fight.

Not that he isn't good, but if signing him means the Colts must pass on some other good players to stay under the cap, good.

BTW, do you think our staff has him scouted well?:)

Marriage??????

Who is the groom, who is the bride?

Is this even legal in Indiana?

lmfaoo......c'mon bro

Colvin had his days, but he has not touched Vrabel/McGinest level. I like him a lot, he's a great guy and I wish him the best but not with a horse shoe on his helmet. I dunno how he would be as a down linemen. Colvin is a very good player, but he was injured and the Patriots didn't even look twice at the guy. Something seems odd, doesn't it? either:

1. This proves Adalius is outside

2. Woods maybe?

3. Colvin was hurt badly, the Pats didn't wanna waste the space on him for the lack of production.

I mean, he was cut like nothing from the Pats and wasn't touched so far in FA. Something has to be up with him.

i like colvin a alot, i would hope he finds a way to come back to the pats. if not then i hope he does well with a new team....but not when they play the pats :)

He probably end up with someone else. I hope he does, maybe an NFC team

this is sick

never wish injury on a player, no matter what team he plays for

Eh, you can remain the "intelligent bystander" and take the moral highroad in the matter. Me? I'll go ahead and wish a non-serious injury on him if he does sign with the Colts. Go to ColtFreaks.com and see how many people wish Tom blows his knee out or wish that Belichick gets hit by a truck. They don't have any such 'class' toward our players so why should't we return the favor? And please don't give me any of that "because we're better than they are" crap.

Secret system?????????/

Boy, some of you guys have vivid imaginations. ;)

According Sirius NFL Radio, Colvin said that Cleveland and the Jets are also interested in bringing him in.

not at all. When a player had been with Pats for so long, he definitelys knows how the D or O works. Of course, another team would like to have this information to keep Pats in check.

The secret is not in the system, the secret is in focused preparation, dedication, and committment to the perfect execution of the system.

I'm sure that other teams have many of the same or at least similar schemes. They just don't pick players to fit the schemes, teach them well, choose to use the right scheme at the right time, and get players to commit to executing the scheme flawlessly.

Unless Colvin does some coaching on the side, I doubt that he would help teams with those types of deficiencies.

So by your logic, if some punk wishes for harm to come to your sister, you should wish for harm to come to his sister. I mean, never mind that his sister never had any ill feelings for you, go right ahead and wish the worst for her.

Why, you think there's something that game film won't show? I know how the D works but that doesn't mean that I know game to game or play to play adjustments. There's no secret.

Yep. An eye for an eye. Old and maybe a little outdated but I guaruntee you head removal in the Middle East would cut down if we took the Geneva handcuffs off the Marines. Same thing here. I love Rosie and I'd never wish a serious injury on him... just a nagging one. Peyton though, I hope he blows both knees out and breaks his back in the first play of the first game of the season. Yep, I went there.
