The one caveat in all of this is that the league does not kill the goose....underlying ALL of this sport..is the CBA..and the new negotiations that will start to resolve the issues.. I LOVE talking about football..would RATHER do that..but when there is a chasm and no bridge crossing it..I really think that needs to be understood in all of this..
Alex Marvez of Fox Sports has written a great deal on it the last few days.. some interesting comments.. He'a also President of the Pro Football Writers Assn I know little about him..but he's writing a lot about it and showing a number of places where there may be problems..Seems like if he is biased he's not the nutcase like Glazer..or full of rumors liek Florio...

Actually Glazer is not THAT bad. Of course that is in comparison, so I may not be saying much.:)

Seems to me New England will make out VERY well if there is no cap. While the Patriots (assuming they are a final four team) would only be allowed to sign unrestricted free agents equal to what they lose....the fact that extra years are added to the 2005 rookie contracts AND three available tags mean we can pretty much keep what we want.

Great stuff here as well as what Pats 726 posted above.
