I would love to do a poll here to see whether Pats should consider to build a dome if it is a requirement for us to hos a SB.

I don't know how i can do poll here. If you know, please let me know. Thanks.

I really like to see us host a SB game in Boston for a change. It's awesome to play all playoff , championship, and SB game in Boston. Don't you feel tired of going to another state to see a SB game.? Don't you feel cold and wet when you watch a game in Foxbrought during winter and rainy day.?

With 1+ billion dollar in his hand, I'm sure that Kraft can afford it. What do you think.?

Re: Should Pats have its own Dome.?

Ask Tom Brady if he would love a retractable roof put on to Gillette, did you hear his comments after the SD game. He hates playing in this crap in January. Let's cover this thing up now, we have a whole new dynamic offense built for speed. The 01 Blue Collar Pats are gone. We're a new team, Tommy needs a nice warm, weather free environment to play in like Goober 18 has had his whole career.

Retractable roof, let's get this project started now..........

Re: Should Pats have its own Dome.?

if we had a dome Brady might just throw 75 TDs in a season.

I really see no reason why we don't. It'd be nice to have a Superbowl in Foxboro too. I'm sure they could get some master architects to fit a retractable roof onto the razor.

Re: Should Pats have its own dome?

the razor is 6 yrs old. do you want to tear it down already?

Wow, I can't believe it's already 6 years old. Seems like only yesterday....

Re: Should Pats have its own dome?

I'm sure all the season ticket holders would pay $1000 per

ticket for a new domed stadium.

Who said tear down Gillette. It's called design, architect and build a retractable roof over it. Bob Kraft, it will guarantee you a SuperBowl if you do it, not to mention more offensive scoring records.

Do we have any architects on this board who can aver an opinion as to whether a retrofit, also known as an after-market alteration, is a practical alternative?

That's a great question, we have to have a few architects/design engineers floating around this board. Would a retractable roof on top of the existing Gillette structure be possible? I can't see why it wouldn't.

yes i want to tear it down. But if i did so myself it would take forever.

I'm going to speak to the Union Delegates tomorrow and get the wheels in motion.

Retractable roof, not a dome.:D

Super Bowl traffic? On Route 1?:rofl::scared::bricks:

I hope this thread is a joke. I hate Dome's and who cares about hosting the superbowl. Domes are for the gays....I decided.

So you wouldn't want Gillette to be twice as loud? You wouldn't want the possibility of hosting a Superbowl home game like the Colts might be able to? Ok.....

We've been undefeated @ Gillette since 06 with the crowd volume we have. And like i said who cares about hosting the superbowl, Peyton and the Colts will prolly suck by 2012 anyway. And good for Indy, god knows their city could use the revenue....:D

Retractable roof is the way to go and if Kraft were to do it again, I bet he would have considered putting this in when they built in given the dollars a Superbowl brings in. They may be able to do it given that one end of the stadium is open. We'll see...

we were undefeated on the road last year too, but a louder stadium still gives an extra edge (just ask Peyton). Having a louder home crowd can carry a mediocre team (i.e. Denver). I wasn't thinking about revenue, just about how cool it would be to have a Superbowl in Mass. I don't see a solid argument against having a retractable roof, especially when our offense would be on another planet with one (more so than they already are). The elements aren't the Pats advantage anymore either. We definitely don't need one, but it would be better if we had one.

No. Football was meant to be played outside.

And if this weren't coming off a season which displayed an aerial assualt never before seen in the league, and the Pats were a smash-mouth run the ball team, who relied on defense, field position, and run blocking, I don't know if the question would even be asked.

I really think it would be totally not cost effective IF it were possible..but I would LOVE to hear from an architect...designer..but nmy gut says COST prohibitive.. But I LOVE the snow games and elements..
