Bellichick apologized. Jeeze Peter, what do you want Bill to do, slit his wrists?

Speaking of Respect Tomase showed up at passing camp ... I wonder how much security he had ...?

No way. He was there.?? The guy has a thick face. Did he deliver his personal apology to BB and Kraft.? I'm really touched by his move.!

Really? I would figure he would be PNG at Patriot facilities. Read an article the other day about Parcells banning a reporter for another city paper from practices.

I used to enjoy Peter King because I think he is a good writer and generally has a good perspective on things....then spygate happened and everything changed. Today he answers emails:

"PATRIOT NATION EVIDENTLY HAS NO PLANS TO FORGIVE JOHN TOMASE. From Jean Bissonnette, of Guilford Conn.: "It figures that you would stand up for Tomase. He gets half the nation in a frenzy ... ready to hang the Patriots and he gets off with an 'I'm sorry.' So he wants to rebuild our trust. Good luck."

He's hardly getting off by saying he's sorry. He knows he's never going to be forgiven by most Patriots fans. What would you like him to do? Slit his wrists?"

No Peter, I think we can find something in between, like maybe he should resign and move to another paper in another city where he can rebuild his reputation. Its pretty disgusting to me that he thinks Pats fans want tomase to die....really Peter, you really think we wish death on someone for being an idiot?

The irony just kills me w/the media, they are willing to let Tomase say his sorry and move on but won't offer that same privilige to BB.

Just losing respect?? For me that was last year..when the pompus idiot would not look into any OTHER complaints against other teams..and other practices...so to me he does not matter..

My email response to King. "Patriot Nation does not want John Tomase to slit his wrists, just join Ron Borgs in obscurity. In other words he should write about some other sport in some city as far from NE as possible. Does Anchorage Alaska need a sports writer for curling? "

Not to worry dante828, you're not losing much, re respect of King!

And they are laughing at us all the way to the bank.....

ESPN, Herald, Globe all of them...they have learned that they can take their shots and then sit back and laugh at the response.

We have become predictable - they sling mud, we write hundreds of comments and emails, fill talk shows up with calls and we watch all their shows. Their papers ell, their websites gets more hits than ever, their ratings rise and rise and rise. Their advertisers buy more time because they now have the numbers.

They get, exactly what they want.....us.

The only way to get even is put them all on ignore. Support only the Patriot website, and a precious few writers that have been fair and balanced - (Reiss, Young, etc). Get your NFL news from NFL Channel and nfl.com. Do not support the advertisers of the idiots.

At some point, they will get that message.

I have already done that....I get my football news from NFL channell...I only read Reiss and few select others.

When I do read someone else I only read what is posted on here as to not give them hits.

but there is only so much one man can do. We need the collective of the entire fan base to stop doing it.

Peter King's hypocrisy on this issue is embarrassing. What Tomase did was tantimount to cheating, but King is afraid to say anything negative about the guy. Yet, he has had no problem blasting Belichick for cheating for eight months now.

Granted, King has always been soft on other writers. I shouldn't be surprised here. When Rich Cimini misquoted King by using his hypothetical comments by Belichick about Kerry Rhodes as actual comments, he was very light on him eventhough he admits that Cimini's column did significant damage to Belichick. Why would I expect King to be any different when it comes to Tomase?

I do think it is a shame that King expects Belichick to be held a much higher standard than he feels his breatheren in the media should be held to. That is part of the problem with the media today.

Anyone have a link to BB's apology? I would appreciate reading it for myself.

i can't say i've lost any respect for king. you can't lose something you never had.

I don't know about any of you (don't actually read through the Spygate threads anymore) but I lost all respect for Peter King years before this began.

Thanks!

Without Peter King, Tomase, Collinsworth and their candy-azz friends pushing this NON-STORY since last year, this would have died a much earlier death. I'm so sick and tired of this crap. I can't stand the sanctimonious sound of King's voice anymore. It's like fingernails on a chalkboard!

most people in general fit this... actually.

Well, he is kind of silly with his things he thinks he thinks and his coffee talk that he alone is obsessed with. He has gotten like a more syntactically clear Peter Gammons who throws a lot of crap against the wall hoping some of it sticks. There's an occasional gem in there, but it's like looking for the diamond ring the dog swallowed: love the jewel, hate the setting.
