The support he receives from us - ( no matter what the Boston Media says), and no matter what the national media says - pretty much cements the fact the Belichick will never coach another team. What do you guys think happens in 2013? Do you think Bill hangs em up, or does he sign a new deal, and take the next pats QB to a few sb's? I am very impressed with how much support the fans gave Bill.

I can't see him packing it in and saying, hey I have had it with New England, let me find another team nor do I ever see him being fired.

BUT it is conceivable, he retires, takes a year or two off gets bored and takes a job somewhere else.

I may be completely biased when I say this, but there is no way he is coaching anywhere else, especially not with Kraft in charge. The only chance for that to happen would be if he retired and then came back to the game some time later, but i get the feeling BB will retire when he's ready (and hopefully) as a patriot forever.

Dear god I hope not. I hope he is a lifer, and will show my support however and where ever I am if it helps keep him around. Hell, if they sold BB jerseys I'd buy one (but the hoodie in FL is NOT a viable option)

You see, I think the League, the Media and the rival fanship see this, too.

They know that would mean much much more Pats dominance and they can't stand it.

Belichick's entire life has been dedicated to the game of football. He'll never coach for another team and he won't retire until his health forces him out of the game. By all accounts he eats, sleeps, and breathes football. Why would he retire? My grandfather had a foundation company and dedicated his life to it the same way Bill does to football. Despite being absolutely horrible, backbreaking work, and I know because I worked for him for years, my grandfather worked six days a week for over forty years. He didn't work because he had to but because he truly loved what he did. When your job is your passion what incentive do you have to retire unless you're forced to? My only worry is that all this spygate nonsense might be wearing on him mentally and killing his desire to coach. Other than that I fully expect him to pull a Paterno and coach until they pry the clipboard from his hands.

New deal. Not out of love for the fans, out of respect for Kraft, maybe. Maybe not wanting to start over with a non-Pioli.

Then again, he'll be 61 and maybe the "no more worlds left to conquer" bug gets him and he retires.

Actually if you look at the greatest coaches, Walsh never won without Montana. Brown won with Otto Graham and the guy who handed off to Jim Brown. Lombardi never won without Starr. I don't know about Halas. To be Brown's equal he has to win a Super Bowl post-Brady. Maybe that will be his "world left to conquer". Maybe doing a championship with 3 QBs like Gibbs.

I once heard Belichick on the Big Show asked what he would be doing if he had never gone on to become a football coach... His response... An effin lacrosse coach!

This guy loves to coach and he's great at what he does, as we all are fortunate enough to witness firsthand Sunday after Sunday of each glorious NFL weekend.

He's also a big time historian of the game... I take it he's aware of these facts:

Chuck Noll- The only NFL coach to tally 4 Super Bowl Victories during his career. Bill will alter that before he's done, and hopefully surpass it.

Don Shula- The winningest coach in football history. 347 career victories! Bill has tallied up 142 thus far...

Here's to hoping Bill coaches for at least 11-15 more seasons to add that to his legacy as well. It will take quite a while, even winning 18-19 games a year...

We'll see if spygate is the asterisk all the Belichick bashers around the country hope it will be when all is said done... I wouldn't trade this head coach for any other in history.

I see Belichick coaching another NFL team in 3-4 years, especially if the Pats win a SB in that time. He will want to restore his legend by winning with another club to prove that he didn't need to cheat, or whatever most of us are calling it.

I hope he never leaves, but I'm his age and he might want to slow down in a few years and just enjoy his success.

Throughout his career he has seen what works and what does not work in terms of the owner, as well as the management team that is put together. It's doubtful that he would get all that somewhere else. In addition I have read (maybe in Patriot Reign?) that one of the reasons he chose the Pats job over the Jets was that he really like the New England area, from his time at Andover to being an assistant with the Pats. He's obviously secure financially and Kraft takes care of him so another owner offering him huge money isn't going to do it.

There's no way he leaves for another team. About as much chance as moving on to NFL Countdown with Tom Jackson or NFL Live with Wingo and Schlereth.

Pats is the only team which BB will coach because of good working relation between him and Kraft. No coach has ever been signed a 10+ year contract. BB is the only one.

BB had bad experience with different team owners before joining Pats and Kraft had the same in the 90. The two obviously understand what it takes to run a good football team.

BB whom you see today is better than the one you saw in 90.
