Mazz used to be one the most level headed people to report on sports, starting about two years ago he went off the deep end and hasnt come back.
His argument today was one of the most riduculous, inane arguments Ive ever heard in my life. If he wanted to make a point he should have used another example, thats is if there is one. The only thing I can think of is the herald either told him to do it or he feels he has to because the ship is sinking and he's desperate.

There is no justification for Tomase's story - he ran with a rumor and reported it as if it were something more than what it was. His sources hadn't even seen the goddamned tape (that never existed). Massarotti is even more of an ahole if he is trying to fight that fight.

That's entirely possible, actually.

If they only told Tomase what they heard then they are only lying if they made up the rumor. That's what I think happened (if it was Walsh I'm sure Tomase would have called him out as the source).

And if Tomase's sources hadn't lied then it only implicates John more, so Mazz is actually doing his peer a disservice by saying they didn't lie.

It's all more evidence of the rash unprofessionalism at that tabloid.

All the Herald guys have not wrapped themselves in glory defending Tomase. I think Tomase could tear down the Herald's sports division and not just by his bogus alone. His coworkers are going shatter their own credibility with the Boston reading public defending the guy.

If I was Mazz, Felger (who really isn't a Herald writer anymore, but still is associated with them), and others; I would just keep my head down and hope this all goes away. I don't think they are doing Tomase any favors.

He's been called out on various hypocrisies, contradictions, Glenn and Pete sound like their heads are going to burst from all the yelling they've done so far. I left my car right as they said they were going to take calls from people.

You know what's going on here? Old media is frothing at the mouth with jealousy over the power of talk radio. Newspapers and their staff no longer have the mojo that radio does. The flat earth mediots are angry because they're irrelevant.

I stopped listening as it was turning into their atypical yell over each other fest, which I cannnot stand.. but it does sound like he is catching some hell.. those newspaper guys like to play the victim when they f.. up and then they band together, remember when Borges plagariazed...

I just got home- Ordway just told Maz to go find another city to work in, because it was clear he had NO concept of what makes a Boston fan tick-especially Pats fans.I never thought his voice could get any squeakier but you should have heard him...."but that's not what I meanttttttt" " you read it wrongggggggg" !
They basically called his article a whiny reaction to the fact he's not in Belichick's circle, and that he loves Doc and Francona because they'll actually talk to him.
Ordway also touched upon the baseball vs football Sox vs Pats thing we've always had going on here in NE, especially MA- and how baseball has always been kind to the media. LOL they said something like "while Belichick locked the doors on you, Francona was baking you cookies".

Mazzie was backpeddling on his yahoo comment too. He also talked about the Herald's culpability,etc. Great show:rocker: I almost went off the road a couple of times
