Having Maz on is a waste of time. You can't reason with an irrational individual. He was incensed that Dale was on record saying (not that the team should sue the Herald but) that if it were him he would.
Stick with me here, this is tortured logic I'm trying to decipher. Maz thinks that it is more aggregious for media outlet like WEEI (aka not print "journalists" as the diminutive elitist sees himself) to repeat a report citing another established media source whose information proved incorrect than it was for the Herald to break a story themselves that turned out to be incorrect.
Back when the Mitchell report was leaking out, Dale and Holley were getting lists of players whose names would appear in the report all day. They did not report these names UNTIL they were reported by WABC in NY. Some of the names (like Varitek's) were wrong. Maz somehow thinks they were as culpable as Tomase, as oppsed to WABC being as culpable. He couldn't answer why ESPN, NYT and every network on the planet were not equally cullpable under his apples and oranges theory for reporting what John Tomase of the Boston Herald reported without "making a few calls and verifying the information...". This is beyond tortured.
Unfortunately they have Max on as well they should because of the Celtics win, but in this context it will result in more gibberish cover for Tony to duck behind.
