Pittsburgh Tribune takes on Senator Comcast!

Wow that was a good read. More than gets the point across and does it in a comical manner. Great find!

I can feel the tides beginning to turn. More and more journalists from other cities are starting to realize this witch hunt is ridiculous. It won't be long before the national media begins to take notice and speeds up their backtracking.

Why did he stop there I think he could have gone on for another few pages pointing out the hypocricies.

Remember folks, this is the largest paper in Pittsburgh!!!!!!!

Think all those ranting Stiller fans are getting some "new information" when they read Mr. Heyl's column today???????? Specter took 1/3 of his presser on Wednesday to devote to pandering to the Pittsburgh fan constituency.

The tide is turning BIG on Senator Specter. It was only a matter of time before it happened.

Because that would be beating a dead horse

Right, he made his point.

It should raise more than one red flag that Walsh and Specter, the two people keeping this dead issue breathing, have two enormous conflicts of interest.

Specter has comcast. Walsh has the fact that he watched Mangini work his way from coffee gopher to DC, while he couldn't break out of entry level and got canned. Think he's bitter? Nah, he's too saintly to feel jealousy

BTW he isn't a sports guy. His beat is politics not the Steelers.

That really does lay it all out there doesn't it?

What's the spread on this being mentioned on ESPN?

Slim to None and Slim just left the room

Isn't this a clearcut example of laundering campaign contributions.

More during the week....why say it all..when theer can be interesting follow up

Even more impressive. This will have an even greater Pennsylvania impact given the political and corporate (Comcast) effect.

Reminds me of Army of Darkness :D

I guess we should be happy that there is anybody pointing this out. If this spreads enough, the national media will follow the trend. The only opinion ESPN has is what they perceive to be the majority of the audience's opinion.

...Klaatu Barada Nixon...ughh..that's not it...Klaatu Barada Nicotine....jeezus! what the hell is that word!...arrrrgggghhhh......

Haha, followed by thousands of Arlen Specters rising out of the graves :D

Wow. That spells it out better than I imagined anyone would. Hopefully the national media will finally pick up on this.

Arlen Specter is bought and paid for by Comcast and yet no one mentions it anywhere. This entire story is a farce.

Anyone else thinks its possible that with the trail growing cold on the pats, these wolves turn their attention to all the sordid characters involved in this (Sphincter, Walsh, Mangini, etc.)? Maybe even start sniffing around other teams that have had cheating mentioned about them during this whole fiasco?

I think some journalist out there will realize that finding dirt on the original finger pointers (JEST) and seeing they did the same things, would be an even more interesting story than the people who they pointed the fingers at, and then subsequently admitted everything.
That would probably start making the Pats look good, again.

I for one would welcome senator saggy face's "independent" investigation (whats senator Mitchell up to these days?), as long as it wasn't of just the Pats, but all teams equally. I think its a matter of time before the media gets wind of an ex-employee of another team or two, who has similar dirt.

Only, I hope that Sphincter is drummed out of office by congress, and then a real investigation is held by someone without an agenda against the Pats.

Only when its all out in the open, will we stop being the scapegoats.
