Digg Nation outraged at Specter's waste of taxpayer dollars

If you surf message boards across the web, it is shocking how many people are slamming Specter. I don't know how many posts I have seen that start with "I am a XXXX fan and I hate the Pats, but...." and then go on to slam Specter for wasting his time when there are far more pressing issues.

Specter may be less popular among football fans outside of New England than Belichick and the Patriots. Boy, did this guy misjudge the public sentiment.

Senator Speculum should be content being on the outside looking in lest he find himself on the inside looking out.

No wonder why gas and food prices are skerocketing we have morons like specter in our Government.

Gas prices are skyrocketing because the idiot tree huggers refused to let the oil companies rebuild the 5 refineries (I think it was 5) that were destroyed during Katrina. Its also skyrocketing because the oil companies are insisting on processing Crude for the likes of Mexico and other Central American countries over keeping it here.

Because we can't process enough oil, the price of gas goes up. The SUPPLY is not the issue. In fact, OPEC came out and said that they cut back production because we weren't buying enough. And we weren't buying enough because we can't process it.

There is no reason for the price of oil to have risen the way it has other than the speculators in Chicago lining their pockets. Plain and simple.

The reason food is going up is because we insist on still paying farmers to not grow food. Or we fine them for wanting to "grow vegetables on areas that are 'designated for corn or wheat.'" Its idiocy. But not just amongst the politicians. Amongst the Oil companies and speculators as well.

Digg nation loves to be outraged over anything- a couple months back, they criminally harassed a minor repeatedly because they suspsected that he may have stolen another digger's xbox 360. While it's good to see them being outraged for the right reasons, I wouldn't assign too much credibility to that crowd.

he just does not want to admit that he is wrong, has wasted the taxpayers money and everyones time on a non issue. He has to say or do something that makes it look like he is in the right, so he can then point blame at someone else for nothing changing.

Not that different than the steriods investigation. It's like congress can't fix what is wrong, the economy, but they can try to fix the entertainment in our lives that is broken. The evening news is starting to look like a continuation of "entertainment tonight"

EXACTLY! I agree with all your points.

Amazing how many people in this great country of ours haven't got a clue as to why things are so screwed up. Even Bush, being the 'politician' he is, would rather blow smoke up everone's behind and make it appear he's actually trying to do something to bring down the price of oil by talking to the Saudi's about increasing output when we CAN'T even refine what we are buying NOW!

This saber rattling, ass-clown senator is ready, willing, and possibly able, to throw away tax dollars investigating the Patriots on an issue the NFL has basically closed the books on because he has his personal adgendas? Please! Don't we have more pressing problems in this country that you could be addressing Senator Comcast? GEEZ!
