That's a bunch of crap. It's negative, and plays into the "Patriots as bad guys/cheaters/outlaws" shtick that the Raiders wore out decades ago. The Patriots don't reflect that persona just because of an overblown reaction to a very questionable rule violation. This team has a lot of integrity unlike the Raiders, and the Pats definitely ain't the Raiders East. If people want to hate the Patriots over cameragate, they're just showing ignorance. No need to legitimize that by playing into a false image.

I love that slogan, and I'm even warming up to The Man Behind The Curtain too.
Again-great article- and you're right. I'm angry about all that's happened, but being hated is becoming ok with me. It means we're feared, so all's still right with the world

True true. We are definitely NOT the Raiders and I think we will all agree here that we have a lot more Class and Integrity then they do. But the reality about this whole thing is that people do hate us now. Therefore, "Embrace The Hate In '08". I like it.

I see it more like turning something very negative into something positive.It's not really about Crapgate itself...the Pats and especially BB were becoming resented long before then. All the stuff about BB's private life, Brady's private life,rumors of BB and Pioli going to the Giants, the timing of the Asante story... ALL that stuff wasn't born out out of anything but the desire to bring down a winner. Spygate was just icing on the cake.
If the Patriots weren't who they are, nobody would care who BB or Brady dated, or what a player's tatoo said, or even the fact they taped signals from an illegal location.They're getting all this because they win.
Embrace The Hate= embrace a team who not only wins, but one that matters enough to inspire all this. It also says I'm still proud to be a Pats fan, and I won't run from the hate. People really are obsessed with them too-love them or hate them, everyone still watches. They'll always be news, I think.

I was "embracing the hate" last year and then somehow moron loser Charger fans took it as their slogan and it kind of killed it for me.
I think I will sit out the embracing stuff and hope for # 4 this season.
