espn will mention it one time then move on to another story

Sen Comcast is such a non-entity, I forgot he was even doing his joke of a press conference today.

Clearly Roger Goodell, one day after telling us how much he liked Matt Walsh and found him to be a credible witness, will take the next step and investigate the Jets (and Chiefs, as Herm is there now) based on his testimony.

anyone who cant see this whole thing was a patroits witch hunt is just not paying attention

Apparently it okay if you suck. It's only an issue when you win.

just like it was a witch hunt against bonds. over half the players were on roids but nobody cared unless it was bonds. every team cheats in the nfl but nobody cares unless it is the patriots.

In the hysteria and media storm this has created, it will be swept under the rug...

So it seems the Jets...

Were that 'one team' Goodell mentioned that Walsh thought had taped signals as well. I must say that I am shocked that Mr. Goodell chose to withhold the identity of that team. SHOCKED!

Re: So it seems the Jets...

For my 1000th post, I would like to point out that the Jets stink and I don't like them. Oh, and Eric Mancheati is scum.

Re: So it seems the Jets...

I will say if they say Steve Scarnechia taped for us, he is taping for the jets now.. its too much now

And we'll probably soon see Matt Walsh on the RATS payroll.

Didn't see this posted yet and thought it deserved a thread. This is the first time I've seen in print that someone with some knowledge indicated another team was taping. I pretty much always assumed that someone else was doing it, of course.

Where's Mike Fish when we need him? Who wants to chip in and get him bus fare from Bristol to the Meadowlands?

Goodell did say that Walsh had mentioned knowledge of another team taping signals-naturally he didn't say which one but I guess now we know? LOL omg this will never die...I need to check the Pats' schedule for our first Jets game and circle that baby on my calendar:singing:

Week 2 in the swamplands.

Oh, this is high comedy...

Specter's only non-addle-brained motivations are these:

1) Avenge his iggles (or paint them as one of the "good guys,") or, for the more cynical among us,

2) 1, plus damaging the NFL and putting its antitrust exemption on shaky ground, to weaken it vis a vis Comcast.

In either event, we know that whether or not he wants to GET the Pats, he has to GET the league as a proxy.

Here is where this gets funny... former Jets employee Goodell becomes his day-to-day enemy. You have to wonder whether to pump up the threat value, Specter is hinting that he goes after the Jets too...

If you think about it this could get really funny. Specter's whole deal is to make the NFL look incompetent in regulating cheating.

Well... he can flap his gums about the Patriots, and call embarassing witnesses, etc. But how much worse can it get for us, really?

Then the next box of ammo is whatever he fires off at the rest of the league.

The only problem, of course, is the possibility that Good(f)ell(a) throws us under the bus, suspends Belichick, and thanks the Senator for pointing out the league's lapsed judgment.

But I think Goodell loves him some HIM enough that he fights Specter tooth and nail...

As the old curse goes, "May you live in interesting times."

No way the commish throw us under the bus. He's on record that the Pats and coach have been punished enuf.

It is comedy in that the commish reaped what he has sowed. I saw that press conference in its entirety, he had every opportunity to squelch the media outlets on this cheating scandal and how long this has been going on. He failed on both items.
