He is the ONLY one on ESPdouche to go against the grain and say "This thing is over....the tapes have come out, we have all seen them and let me tell you folks......there is no walkthrough tape.....there is nothing new......there is NO SMOKING GUN.......I know that alot of you out there and in the media want to SEE MORE MADE of this stuff and are praying that something else comes out to hurt the Patriots....but it isn't coming.....this thing is over and you will all have to get over it. Everyone hates the Patriots because they have the smartest coach, the best player personnel guy, and the best quarterback in the game.........Everyone wants to punish the Patriots for doing the same things that every team is doing out there.......Sure some teams are using binoculars and codes to steal these same signals and were the Patriots arrogant for going high tech and getting these signals with video.....yep they were.....but I am sure that alot of other teams have done this stuff as well.....never got caught though"....Now... This is not verbatim......but these are all little snippets in the best context that I can recall from his shows of the past few days.....He really went to bat for the Pats and took alot of heat.......and although every other employee at ESPcrap is trying to bury the Pats.....He is not toeing the line and has the guts to stand up and buck the agenda........anyone else hear him this week (and Friday I believe)?

Re: I give Colin Cowherd alot of credit

doug gottlieb has also expressed similar thoughts on espn radio. they were found guilty 8 months ago, there is no new news, lets move on.

Re: I give Colin Cowherd alot of credit

Can you believe the crap that ESPN comes out with!

I will not watch them ever again.:)

Re: I give Colin Cowherd alot of credit

That will be the only Espn programming I will tune into, until Oct 20th when we have to watch the Pats on espn

Missed Cowherd this morning on them, but it doesn't surprise me. He was a bit knee-jerky when the story broke and was going along with the fire-and-pitchfork media mob, but once this cooled down he has been pretty rational about the whole thing.

again this is all rehearsed. ESPN chooses 2 people to criticize , 2 to support and captures attention of all the fans.

He has really been the only rational media guy from that lowly piece of dogsh** station on this issue. I know when the story first broke after the Jest game he was kind of a prick, but he did say after that game Jets fans were ignorant if they thought the videotape was the only reason their team got their ***ES handed to them......

He has been very pro-Pats and pro-BB since then.....I travel alot for work in the car,......and he is the ONLY one from that despicable channel that I can stomach.....He has been extremely level headed on this issue....and gets the big picture....THAT EVERY TEAM IS DOING THE SAME THING THE PATS GOT PUNISHED FOR.....and that...THIS THING HAS GOTTEN BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION..........Give him credit for having the guts to go against the "good ole boys" mentality at ESPcrap..........

I don't think so in his case.....He says all the time that he was amazed that ESPcrap hired him because he said what was on his mind....and said that during his interview they asked him a question about something (forgot) and he gave them his opinion.....and they looked at him in dead silence because they didn't expect the answer he gave....and he thought...."Well there goes that job".....and then they hired him because he could remain unbiased and take a completely different angle on a topic than everyone else.......Anyways, I don't think he has been coached into being the Pro guy to everyone else's anti.......because that would have to change on every issue.....For example, he comes crashing down on Notre Dame and Ohio State......Not popular positions to be in....;)

You know, I've been trying to tell you guys to give up ESPN, it's what they deserve and I think it is finally sinking in.

I, along with most of you, will not watch ESPN, until I'm forced to, because of a Patriot game.

I can't wait until the NFL network takes all the games away from ESPN.
And it is coming, believe me.
I believe that is why the NFL network was created.

Great article on Cold, Hard Football Facts.com about camera spying on the Patrtiots

this is actually a true statement

espn gains viewers by always having a for and against

regardless of the topic

SVN's totally correct

and the for's always seem to trade off with the against's

this is why one day you guys will be praising something peter king's said, and the next day you'll be bashing him

espn sucks you in, so do most other sports channels

this is common practice

controversy creates cash, and if everyone is debating on one side, viewers tune out

Espn would rather annoit Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, and bury Bill Belichick... F Espn...

I miss Sean Salisbury and Keyshawn. They were great pro-Pats

Cowherd is horrible. He's painful to listen to.

Not a fan of Cowherd's style but I'll give him props for not taking the easy road (i.e., pandering to what the majority wants to boost ratings.) This morning he just went off on his audience. Said he's getting calls and e-mails accusing him of being a schill for the NFL and being paid off by the Patriots. He went on to say he has a guaranteed contract and he gets paid the same amount regardless of his views, but in fact when his contract comes up in four years he would be better off if the Patriots did something wrong, because that would mean controversy, which creates ratings, which results in profits. (I found it interesting that he didn't use the words "take the Patriots side" but instead took the stance that there was no evidence of new guilt.) Essentially he took a jab at those that are still clinging to the idea that the tapes are proof of a competitive advantage and are not being honest in their opinions, putting ratings and profits above all else.

He ended by saying if you don't agree you're an idiot or a Jets fan.

Then he had Yasinkas on, and Yasinkas once again said the tapes "clearly show the Patriots cheated." Disappointed Cowherd didn't call him out on the wording but I guess we'll have to live with that wording. He did ask why Walsh didn't come out months ago and state he didn't have a walk-through tape and Yasinkas first said "good question" and then started fumbling around with a theory that Walsh wasn't really sure what he had.

They just broke to commercial but next up he's going to talk about how those that lose feel compelled to accuse the winner of cheating.

Nothing Cowherd says now mskes up fr the crap he said when this broke. He's still an enormous d-bag

Lucky for us he hates "conspiracy theory guy" more than the Pats. But he's to be commended today, even though Im still not real happy with his radio coverage on the day of the SB. He was hideous that day, and owes us this.

Cowherd just said he's going to have Schlereth on his radio show at top of hour (in 5 minutes). Should be interesting to hear Schlereth defend himself.

screleth is on @11am on espn radio, i cant wait to hear this

I'm sure chop blocker Schlereth is still pouting after Brady treated him and his network like a little B.
