Tomase/Cameragate

I would wish this guy good luck in his next job anywhere away from NE and football. But he has overstaid his welcome. IMO
I live in a very nice town of about 30K with a tiny little newspaper - tomASSe would be a great sports reporter for a town like mine :D

As a Bostonian, I'm ashamed to have a citizen such as tomase. I hope that pats is not his 'football' team. You can't show your support to your team by doing what Tomase did.!

Even though I dont live in Boston area any more, Boston will always be in my heart for life because i grew up in this city.

I'm as upset about what Tomase did as anyone, but you seem confused as to what a journalist's job entails. The Herald isn't a fan blog.

He screwed up and deserves all the consequences for that, but what kind of "support" were you expecting from him? Last time I checked, major newspapers didn't send their writers to the press box clad in the their hometown team colors.

Hold on, hold on...let me get this straight: you want us to lay off him on the day when it's been revealed that he basically FABRICATED A STORY THE DAY BEFORE THE SUPER BOWL?!? That story was about as hurtful and wrong as a story can be: it created a 4 month headache and increased embarassment at a time when the team needed none of it, it opened a crack for Specter to grease his way into the NFL spotlight and, in my opinion, it did nothing positive for the Patriots Super Bowl chances and--at worst--played a small role in the outcome of the game (no, I'm not saying Tomase's article is to blame--not in the least; however, taking time away from his preparation to answer questions about it certainly couldn't have helped Belichick--who, might I add, was ridiculously out-coached).

Until he loses his job and the Herald issues a retraction of the story, I refuse to lay off that jackass.

Agreed, he’s no better then Steve Bartman

Lay off him???who the f**k are you???I hope he burns in hell...

i'll lay off tomase when he promises to lay off greasy foods

Tomase deserves some of the vitriol to be sure, however the editor(s) who green lit the story are even more deserving. It's their job to weed out the regular chaff and the libelous chaff. They failed. Miserably. So here's a big F**K YOU to them. DIAF bastards! :rocker:

No, I was not confused at all. What kind of support did I expect him to do.? I expected him to do his job right.

If somebody tells me something about a well-known person or organization, i can't hurrily publish an article about it by 'taking' his/her words for it. I'm not going to do it because I want to be the FIRST person to report it .I will put my job and my company reputation in line if he/she gave me false information. As a sport columnist, he needs to be objective and verifies all info.

How do I suppose to feel when other tells me that my team had a walkthrough video.?

How did Pats players suppose to feel when the news was out before a BIG game.?

If he couldn't improve the situation by providing fact or new info in his article, why did he make it worse.?

After re-reading my OP I probably worded it incorrectly. I stated in a reply earlier that I do think he deserves the criticism, just not the endless insults. But I think I'm dumping a pail of water on a 3 alarm fire right now.

Not for nothing, but this piece of **** throws insults around liberally in his 'reporting', as do most of the clowns in this town.

Endless isn't long enough for this fat, greasy, cheeseburger-wolfing, Crisco-freebasing, lying, ugly, did I say fat?, piece of garbage.

What?! Layoff of Tomase and the Herald before they prostrate themselves before BB in public and beg for forgiveness? FAT chance! NEVER!

Tomase should go cover Japanese baseball or something. At least Walsh had revealing footage of cheerleaders!

If Tomasse does a Mea Culpa, should someone warn him that Patriot fans are rarely confused with Jesus.

Tomase.... Where do I even begin.... he has so many double chins he looks like he is staring at you over a pile of pancakes.
:explative

Actually eventually Steve Bartman was "acquitted" when that OF admitted recently he'd not be able to get that ball. So Tomasse was worse than Bartman.

touche, I was unaware of that

huh?

OK, I get it, he's fat. So? There are thin lousy journalists too.:)

If he went on nutri-system or something it won't change his colossal screw up.

I refuse.. no thin lousy journalists .. just Tomase's

Tomasse is so fat that when he broke his leg, gravy poured ou!
He's so fat the back of his neck look like a pack of wieners
He's so fat..... well you get the picture.

At minimum, an apology to the Patriots, the Kraft family and to the Patriot Nation.
IF you saw his blurb today on the meeting with Walsh and Goodell, you know it won't be coming any time soon.
The fat ba$tard

Reallly..he's had enough?? He claimed that he had to publish it because it was the news...THAT is pretty pathetic..Nowhere did he say anything other than he got it confirmed and they were comfortable with it.. Apparenrly being comfortable isn't necessarily being CORRECT!! The latter is what ANY journalist NEEDS to do. Not sure what he did..where he got his source from, but he needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility.

This is certainly going to be an unpopular opinion, but now that Cameragate has more or less been put to rest, can we try to make an attempt to lay off of Tomase? Sure, it appears that he screwed up and screwed up big time. However, this guy does read this board, as evidence by referencing a comment on Chad Jackson in one of his stories. I feel it's really unnecessary to be continuously insulting him on things like his physical appearance, et al.

This is all just my 2 cents, and I'm sure this won't stop many if any at all. But underneath it all there's a guy who might lose his job, which I'm sure has to be a disheartening feeling. I think the guy has been through enough.

Another freaking forgiving liberal ... go away.

Go save the world and leave Tomase to us....:p
