Fox Sports Mike Rosenberg: Goodell is letting the Patriots off too easy

That's for sure. It's not happening. But it should - last year proved how important the camera was.

it was also the 1st year Brady had a top flight WR to throw to though.

Why do you guys keep posting these articles? They're all the same.

Article: Pats cheated.
us: it wasn't cheating because [enter reason 1] and [enter reason 2]

Article: Goodell let Pats off light.
us: We never deserved the loss of a first rounder in the first place.

Rinse and repeat. If these articles annoy you so much, then don't pay attention to them. Besides, they largely say the same, wrong stuff over and over and over again. I agree that we got the **** end of the stick when it comes to Spygate, but whining over some idiot's articles that his Jet fan bosses told him to write to stir things up doesn't change anything.

And it was the first time he put up huge numbers. Brady was a winner with mediocre numbers with his other WR and the camera. He had the best season ever for a QB with better WR and no camera.

KontradictioN if you don't like reading about it start your own thread & stop bumping this one up. ;)

I'm just playing the role of a Jets fan here lol

Obviously I don't think the cameras did much if any good. And I think it's pretty clear BB didn't care about getting caught because he trully didn't believe he was breaking any rules. Other fans can say that's BS, but when you have opposing coaches waving into the camera I think it's safe to say this was done in plain sight.

I stop reading articles as soon as I read the word "cheating" - which, of course, means I never finish any of these articeles. It's not cheating.

Not cheating? Then what the hell is it? Thats one of the stupidest things I've read in a long time.

You understand that stealing signals is allowed under the current rules yes? As is videotaping from specific vantage points?

My guess is that no, he doesn't.

Yeah it did prove it, the Pats have been doing this since at least 2000. So the fact that they didn't tape last year, does nothing to dismiss the fact that they had archives of coaches signals. The knowledge they gained over all of those years was still available to them all of last season. Let me ask you a question, if the camera didn't help them then why would they take the risk at doing it. There is no logical answer to that that you can give me. Especially when you consider that the league sent a memo to all teams before the start of the 07 season that reiterated that stealing signals would not be tolerated. Yet, they still felt the need to do it, because it is beneficial to the organizations success. Call a spade a spade man!

Correct, it's not cheating because the activity of stealing signs is 100% legal. We just did it in an manner which isn't allowed.

Haha, so you did nothing wrong and got punished for no reason. Yes I do know that videotaping is allowed. I also know that videotaping opposing teams signals is not allowed. That would be the vantage point that the Pats did it from.

And call a Jest fan a Jest fan.

Sorry - your team blows.

To answer your question on why they'd do it, I think Belichick honestly thought it was such a minor rules violation that the penalty would be minor if there were a penalty at all. Think of the other side of your question - if Belichick thought what he was doing was a big deal, why would he have a guy in the wide open doing it ?

Not allowed, meaning you broke the rules. I think that would qualify as cheating.

You actually think any "rule violation" is cheating ? You have a VERY low standard. I hope that when ****ington tries to draw us offside in Week 2 that you consider that "rule violation" to be cheating too.

Ah you must've read my previous posts. So you should see that I am reasonable. And yes, the Jets did blow last year. We'll see if they do better this year. But I hope when the Jets finally do win another Super Bowl, there is not an asterisk next to it.

By that logic, Chad Johnson cheats every time he does an end zone celebration. And Clinton Portis cheats every time he wears different color socks. Oh, plus every holding, facemask, PI, late hit, and 12 men on the field call was committed by cheaters. Because they all broke the rules.

But I hope when the Jets finally do win another Super Bowl
Damn, warn me before you tell jokes, I had water coming out of my nose I was laughing so hard.

Man, you're looking at this situation through some pretty thick glasses. And you still didn't answer my question, why did the Pats steal signals after that memo went out?

I'm glad your team blows. Will you apply your "breaking rules equals cheating" qualifyer to all teams?

What are you trolls going to cling to tomorrow after your boy Goodell says there are no more punishments and you see the tape is nothing more than an advanced scouting method?

Also, do you put asteriks next to the Yankees 90's World Series wins?
