Hi guys,

only recently discovered this forum and thought it prudent to jump on board.

Been a Pats fan since 2001 (leading in to Red Sox and Celtics.. it's all gotta be Boston!) and since then been on a mission to find out all I can about the franchise. Absolutely mad about the Patriots, which many find bizarre here in Australia.

Followed NFL somewhat as I saw a game as a kid on an Australian Football oval and became intrigued by it, without ever picking a team. For some reason or another, I became intrigued with the Pats end of 2000 early 2001 and have started following them ever since. Whilst making that decision, also decided to jump on board the Celtics and the Red Sox, much in the same vain.

Hope to contribute to the boards and increase my Patriots and American Football acumen whilst here!

Welcome to the forum! :)

Welcome mate (always wanted to say that). What do you like better - american football, rest of the world football or rugby?

G'day mate ha ha.

To be honest in order of preference this is how I rate codes of football.

1. Aussie Rules (AFL) and American Football

2. Soccer
3. Rugby Union

4. Rugby League

I grew up in an Aussie Rules state and have been exposed to it for life, thus the complete bias.

What attracted me intially about NFL is it's almost a game of chess with real life people demonstrating explosive pace/skill/strength and real life problem solving. Some people say it's boring.. I say it's majestic.

Welcome aboard. Doesn't Russell Crowe own a Rugby League team or is that AFL? I'd love to learn more about that sport.

He is part owner of the South Sydney Rabbitohs. They are a Rugby League team.

Try www.nrl.com.au to learn more about it!

just out of curiosity, what times do American football games come on down there?
Reasonably early in the mornings mate. Anywhere between 4.00 - 10.00 am dependant upon where they are played.

Repeats are usually on around 10 PM that night.
