Text Message of the Week

"I'm ready to prove u wrong again, Mr. King. Can't wait.''

--New England safety Rodney Harrison, in a note to my cell phone, received at 10:27 a.m. Thursday.

I believe Harrison, who I have a good relationship with (I think), is still sore about me questioning whether he could play at a high level before last season, his 14th in the NFL.

It's so fun being a motivational force.

I wish he could defend miraculous catches :(

OK let's not get into attack mode because someone posted something that you and I disagree with. Rodney defended that as well as anyone. He just couldn't knock it away and the receiver made a 1 in 1,000,000 "catch".

Peter King may not want to get on Rodney's bad side if he plans to get anywhere close to the sideline.

Yes, Peter King is part of the story again. Isn't he important to the inner workings of the NFL? What would us little people do without his work? Thanks, Peter. You're the BEST!

I clicked onto this thread expecting to read something about Rodney King....I guess my mind is still in it's usual Monday morning slow phase.

Relax. Peter King is ridiculous sometimes but this was kind of funny.

Funny you said that...below is another post RP just made in another thread

Just goes to show how "irrelevant" I am.

Dude, get over your whole vendetta. I'm a Pats fan. The Super Bowl bummed me out. SpyGate bummed me out. You want to call me a downer, go ahead. But I'm a PATS FAN who is a downer.

I'd say something about the catch but PatsNUT told Rodney (Harrison, not King) where I live.

Ok, you're right about the vendetta thing. It is a waste of time. I've never doubted you're a Pats fan even though I've hinted otherwise. I've read enough of your other posts to see that.

Yep that about sums it up when I think of the SB.

OH MY GOD! We ******* get it, the superbowl sucked, we lost! It hurts "We're moving on". Man, would I hate to have you for a friend if my dream girl broke my heart. Out at a bar, tryin to do work with some new chick, you come over and say, "Hey man, remember when (insert dream girl's name) cheated on you with that dude with the 18 inch dong? Dude, that was in your own bed, too! Man, that musta hurt!"

Your friends with deceased relatives must despise you.

Go **** yourself, thank you.

If fans are allowed to get overly excited about their team then they can be just as saddened.

Perhaps, Rodney can shave his mustach so that he can look younger.

Something unrelated from King's article...it struck me as I read how one of Jacksonville's big strengths is that they've found their "quarterback of the future." You see references like this a lot, about Garrard as one of the up-and-coming young QBs in the league. I think he's a very good player, but hasn't anybody noticed that...

David Garrard is the same age as Tom Brady.

Garrard is a seasoned veteran, entering his 7th season in the NFL. He only seems like a fresh new flavor of the day because he never did squat his first 5 years!

Or maybe I should think of it this way: The Patriots have found their Quarterback of the Future! :D
