Coach Belichick returned to WEEI's "Big Show" today and there was not a single question about the Superbowl.

Coach Belichick was his usual self in discussing the draft "we took the player we thought would best help our team".... blah, blah, blah, but not a single word was spoken about what was arguably the biggest upset in the history of the NFL.

Did anyone else find it a little odd that Glenn Ordway didn't ask Belichick about the Superbowl?

As far as I know this was Belichick's first on air interview anywhere since the Superbowl. Wasn't this the perfect opportunity to at least ask Belichick about topics such as the 4th + 13 or at the very least his overall take on the game?

Instead Belichick fielded softball questions (nothing of any real substance was asked or answered) about the draft. He answered those questions in his usual coach speak that reveals next to nothing.

I can't help but think if the Pat's had won the Superbowl coach Belichick would have shown up on the "Big Show" months ago and Ordway would have peppered him with a ton of questions about the game.

Don't get me wrong. I am a big fan of both Bill Belichick and Glenn Ordway, but I thought the interview today was a little forced and that they were intentionally avoiding the 800 pound gorilla in the room.

Did anyone else notice this or is it in my head?

ps: The one interesting thing about the interview was when Belichick said in no uncertain terms that the Patriots had no interest in Pacman Jones and were never involved in the trade talks.

They've moved on. That was last season.

Today's interview was concerning The Draft and Draft related issues,it was not focused on The Super Bowl or Super Bowl related issues,it's really that simple.

That's kind of a weak answer.
No it's not. It was last season. I don't want to talk about it and I doubt Belichick does. It's not time to rehash the last game it's time to look forward.

And this kind of shows you how little you know about the patriots. They take one game at a time and what is past is past. They don't live in the future, and they don't live in the past. I still am amazed that so many "fans" haven't picked up on this in the past 8 years.

Exactly. And that is why when the Pats win SB XLIII it will be that much sweeter. The pain will be erased and the haunting will come to an end.

Come on. Are we just going to pretend the Superbowl didn't happen? I guess the issue is more with Ordway for not asking the questions, but why do I have a feeling that if Belichick wanted to answer the questions he would have shown up before the last week in April?

Don't you guys find Belichick's lack of visibility since the Superbowl as well as Ordway's total lack of interest in asking questions about the Superbowl a little odd?

Don't you guys want some answers to the big questions (that should be respectfully asked) that still surround the Superbowl?

Quite frankly I can understand why he doesnt want to talk about itl

If I meet up with anyone outside in sports store, the mall, anywhere else, and I happen to have a Pats shirt on and they want to talk about the Super Bowl , well quite frankly I dont want to talk about it either.

Its over, its done, it hurts and I prefer to just let sleeping dogs lie and forget it. We will have our chance to erase the ghosts of SB XLII in SBXLIII.

Until then, I too prefer not to talk about it and I amsure that BB feels even more strongly about it than I do. I am just a fan.

Never heard of such a thing, tell me more about this super bowl.. Is that where a tabloid newspaper tells a false story about a franchise, that is playing in a game the next day , and then the team is falsly tainted as cheats??

Cant say I heard of it:rolleyes:

Why would he? He didn't address the Super Bowl on February 3rd either.

Flame on, everyone.

What purpose would it serve? The SB was nearly 3 months ago and BB is looking towards the 2008 season.

When did you start listening to Belichick on WEEI? He only gives interviews because it is a contractual obligation with the station. Once the season is over, his next scheduled interview is POST DRAFT. This is the way it has been for YEARS.

Yeah, and if you believe that I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'm interested in selling. If you are telling me with a straight face that we can't ask Belichick questions about the Superbowl because he is so focused on the present you are delusional.

I'm not saying we should dwell in the past, but I would like to hear coach Belichick's take on the Superbowl. I can't really think of a more legitimate question to ask an NFL coach.

I am a big fan of the man and the organization , but I refuse to be a Patriots/Belichick apologist. Wishing Belichick would answer a legitimate question about the Superbowl does not "prove how little I know about the Patriots" It proves what lengths some people will go to drink the Patriots Kool-Aid.

I think it's more like asked and answered. He answered questions after the SB, now his mind is onto something else, like winning this time ! That's exactly the kind of mind he has, can't used it anymore, whatever it is, cut it loose ! He learned anything that needed to be learned, why dwell ! Move on, draft those players, make this team better !

When it comes to coaching, the guy's a machine, plain and simple !

What, are you one of those people who expects a person who makes a mistake (or suffers a big time loss), to get grilled over it to make you feel better?

Guess what, sh*t happens, and considering how the luck has always gone our way (aside from this year), I would put things into perspective a bit before bafooning all over the place.

The pats went 18 - 1, and ob Belichick was crushed over the loss. The mark of true champions is the ability to accept defeat, and move on.Thats why you are an internet jockey, and Beli runs a pro football team.

Belichick has addressed the fact that they lost the superbowl many times, and maybe since the big show hosts are his friends, they thought they might give him a bit of a break for his first time back on the air.

What possible answers would you expect Bill to even give about the SB?

We lost to the better team. We made some plays, they made some plays. They made more plays than we did. It is what it is.

Realize this: Belichick doesn't owe you ****. He brought us 18-1.

You think in 2006 they asked him why we lost to the Broncos in the playoffs?

The Super Bowl was 3 months ago and Belichick has already said all he's needed to say about it, including on EEI and the Big Show (I believe he did one more appearance after the SB). The draft was yesterday and the day before. Gee, I wonder what they should talk about.

They made a point of saying this was his first time back after the Superbowl.

Nowhere did I say they shouldn't talk about the draft. I'm just saying Ordway dropped the ball by not asking the questions we all (including EVERYONE on this board) had about the Superbowl.
