every year we have to hear some nonsense about how the bills are the "team to watch" that they've "flown under the radar screen" that they will "challenge for a playoff spot" and that the "pats are concerned." you kidding me? the day we focus our main attention on those losers is the day our dynasty is officially over. and folks, it's far from over ....

4. The Bills are a team to watch in 2008
Buffalo has been quiet but productive in the offseason. They made a trade adding Marcus Stroud to their defensive front, giving them some much needed size to their defense. They signed a versatile linebacker in Kawika Mitchell from the Giants. And now, with the draft, they added top cornerback Leodis McKelvin, who will also help out in the return game, and big wide receiver James Hardy, who will complement speedsters Lee Evans and Roscoe Parrish.

But what really makes the Bills' potential off the charts is the return of linebacker Paul Posluszny, among others, to the 53-man roster. Posluszny, a first-round pick in 2007, joined 11 other Bills last year on injured reserve. The Bills weren't all that far off last season, finishing 7-9 but playing hard in every game.

You better believe the Patriots are paying attention. The Bills are healthy, they have added size to their defense and they keep adding players who impact the kicking game. With all the attention being paid to the Miami Dolphins' new regime and the Jets' spending in free agency, I think the Bills have flown under the hype radar in the AFC East and are in position to challenge for a playoff spot in 2008.

That song is getting pretty old. Remeber when Miami was going to take over the AFC East? Now it's the Bills turn.

The division will be much tougher next year, as in tougher games. Nobody is ready to challenge the Pats yet obviously. But the division games will be more competitive.

Miami can't be worse.

The Jets I think moved past Buffalo. They went from 0 pass rushers to 2, and upgraded the nose guard spot with personell better suited to a 3-4. Also their OL was hideous last year and they added 2 new starters there. Did they overpay for some of the free agents, yea probably but they are unquestionably a much better football team. They still have some issues but I, gasp, think they could contend for a playoff spot.

Buffalo last year had a rookie QB and RB and about 15 guys on IR.

Buffalo deserves the Pats attention, as does any team they are gaurenteed to face twice a season. The minute they start dismissing even the horrible teams is when the dynasty is truely over because attention to that kind of attention to detail is what makes the Pats so great to begin with.

Look at this objectively - the Bills had pretty much all of their impact players either on IR or injured in some way shape or form last season and still played some hard games (even though the pats blew them out twice). If they get their chit together and stay healthy then they could actually be a threat to the Pats...not necessarily for the division, but still a threat.

I've liked what the Bills have done over the past two offseasons. They won't "take over the division," but they're on the way up.

sounds like you could use some attention to detail yourself!

I 100% agree with this. They are way better than the rest of the division, which isn't saying much. I can see them as a wild card this year.

werent they like 31 in offense and 30 in defense last year? you call that progress over the last 2 years? LOL . come on man, you don't change that overnight.

They draft a 6-6 WR. We draft a 5-9 CB.

We are not concerned about the Bills.

If Buffalo keeps gaining on us like this, I predict that they will manage to lose to us by only single digits within three seasons.

I think the Bills will hang with NE for awhile in the AFC East and NE will go on to win the division by 2 games - I doubt this is another runaway division title

The other teams have improved enough to make NE sweat a little till the last 1/4 of the season when I think the Bills run out of gas and the division should be secured by week 14.

I expect a NE win record of about 12 games with buffalo having a good shot for a wild card berth

Early Worthless Prediction for the AFC East

New England 12-4
Buffalo 10-6
NY Jets 8-8
Miami 5-11

Sigh....whose playing QB for the Jills next year? Oh yeah, Trent Edwards and JP Losman.

End of discussion.

I like what little I saw of Trent Edwards in his semi-limited role last season - I think he will be a pretty good QB within the next few years,This year will show what hes got

J.P. Loserman needs to go,He sucks and has shown little in plenty of time to shine

Of course anyone who is not a QB on the Patriots will NEVER amount to nothing and is wasting thier career as a pro according to too many homermaniacs in here

Give Edwards 3 years before annointing him lousy just because he is an opponents QB

Edwards is fine as a No. 2-3 QB. He doesn't throw the deep or intermediate routes well. He lacks arm strength. He's a stop gap QB, not a franchise QB and that's all he'll ever be.

Losman is a bust, that ship has sailed.

Unlike the Phins and Jets, I have no issue with Buffalo whatsoever. I love Marshawn Lynch as a player.

Didn't they say similar stuff about a guy named Tom Brady which is one of several reason why Tom lasted till round 6?

I am not saying Edwards will be anything near or even in the same catagory as Tom but it seems people said similar things in the 2000 draft about a guy that was not very accurate or had a strong arm - our qb

Meh....the Brady comparisons to every low-rated/drafted QB coming down the pike is tired. You can believe Edwards can get it done for Buffalo. I'll continue to believe he's a middling talent more suited to a back up role. We'll see what happens.

Yes we will see what happens

Of course as a fellow Pats fan just like yourself I hope you are right about it and I am wrong,Of course a dream world would consist of hope for all opposing AFC East QBs to be one big pile of sh!t this year

BTW: On the topic of QBs did you know Baltimore heard the Jets were going to grab Flacco so the Ravens intentionally made a trade to get Flacco before the Jets did.

I like that Flacco kid,Perfect size and arm strength for the pros,Glad he didn't get to the Jets

I agree about Flacco. I think the Ravens may have finally gotten the QB situation right.

And to clarify, it wouldn't bother me if Edwards became a successful QB. I'm one who would welcome some competition of any kind within the division. It makes things more interesting.

True indeed,I actually think my prediction of a 2 game gap for the title is perfect,The division would be a challenge for awhile but not heart throbing to have to clinch in the final week

Like I said earlier,NE should win around 12 games - whoever is second probably 10
