I think you can teach pursuit and you can teach someone to not disappear and take plays off. Now you probably can't teach that to all players, but if the Pats take Gholston, and I hope they do if he is there at 7, then I'd confidently say that BB thinks he can teach Gholston that stuff and he'd make an excellent Patriot.

Just heard an interesting tidbot on the NFL NEtwork. The Ravens are talking with St. Louis about moving up to #2 to take Matt Ryan before the Falcons do. This would be a dream scenario for the Pats because if they did, then the Pats could trade with Atlanta for Chris Long!

If the draft falls Long, Long, Ryan, McFadden, Doresy, Gholston then the Pats are screwed. Ellis is a great DL, but no one is going to trade up for him.

Um . . . . Great DL . . . no one is going to trade up for him . . . do you sense the incongruity there ?

:D

Gamesmanship. The Rams know that ATL is saying they want Dorsey, but if they havent made a call to the rams about trading up 1 pick(for a 3rd, they have 2)they KNOW they are taking Ryan. The rams now call the Ravens to talk about a trade....only makes sense. But if they do get an offer from the Ravens it doesnt mean they dont just go back to the Falcons with that offer...and ATL can top it. But what would it take to get up to #3?? Both 3s? I dont think we want to give up our 2.....who knows.

well then the pats should just stall and wait until they hit a slot that benefits them.

Isnt' that how it works...? they can stall and let other teams pick and then just pick when they want (like at 13 for example)

That would be hilarious, and transfer every last non-Pats fan into a Pats Hater for sure.

Brian Billick said that he doesn't think the Ravens have the assets to move up to #2 without giving up too much because their 3rd rounder is untradeable.

However, the Pats do have a nice 3rd rounder courtesy of the Raiders, #69. Maybe we might be involved in making this deal happen for the Ravens and get some Ravens player in return.

i accurately picked the top 4 picks about 6 months ago.

everyone said i was crazy.

Who's crazy now?

Wait till @ 3:20 to toot your horn Keegs ... :p

Chris Mortensen: Baltimore could dangle the #8 pick and Terrell Suggs to St. Louis for #2.

I don't buy it for a second!

If the Falcons truly wanted Ryan, why would they announce it with pick #2 right ahead of them, still not officially chosen and in the books.

They know that the Ravens have a trouser tent for Ryan, and a rookie head coach willing to blow his wad on a shiney new QB.

IMHO, Atlanta wants Dorsey, but they figure that Ellis and an extra #2 would be a better "value" if they made the trade to move down ;)
If not, then they guarantee that Dorsey doesn't get taken at #2, and falls to them for sure.

This is the right information to drop at the right time to drop it.
Have we forgotten who Atlanta general manager Thomas Dimitroff studied under? :bricks:
