According to the guys at Patriots Insiders Carolina is the trading partner and either Sedrick Ellis or Matt Ryan are the targets. New Orleans is also interested in trading up for Ellis according to PI...stay tuned.

The Patriots have a big gaping hole at LB that they have left open for their first pick.

Their first pick will be a LB no question. Making that pick 5-6 picks later makes so much sense.

if there is a partner to trade with.

i also heard rumor of us wanting to leapfrog jets to get Gholston.

i know Eagles want to move up as well and i'd take Sheppard + the 19 pick and a little something extra to make it happen

Sheppard the number 19 and a 3rd rounder and that'd be sweeeeeeeet.

(not that they would ever do that.)

If we stay put it will be Albert or unless Gholston or Long are some how on the board still, and if Mcfadden is somehow there, jerry jones wont be able to pick up the phone fast enough.

Also rumored we are trying to move up to two to select Chris Long. I hardly believe that.

i was just thinking that..... There hasn't been too much talk of Dallas trading up as there should be....

Both picks for 7 would be craptastic.

PFT is saying the Raiders are a lock to get Mcfadden, which means, Gholston and Dorsey are both left, would KC be willing to trade??

The way I see it, is if the cowboys can't wait to trade both of their #1's to move up and nab DMC (which I don't believe), then why is it that they MUST wait for him to fall to the pats? With that kind of firepower and teams ahead of us needing extra picks badly, why wouldn't he already be on the phone with every team ahead of us... especially if the perception is that DMC would at worst, be snagged by the Jets one spot ahead of us?

I would loooooove it too, and will keep my finger crossed, but I just don't think it makes much sense to be based solely around the pats at #7

Felt all along that the Pats will trade down.. this is not a surprise.

I think the Pats should just trade up and snatch Gholston or even Long(would take too much). You have a SB caliber team and you have an opportunity to add a potential ProBowler difference maker. These opportunities don't come along. We already got shafted out of #31. This team needs major pass rushing help and the salary cap will go up.

Get a LB!! go for gold.

you want DMC? that would be such a huge waste of #7. they should have signed Asante at that rate.

Drafting DMC maintains the status quo. I don't see the defense improving much if that happens. If it happens I will go on the record they will not win the SB, let along even make it there without significant pass rush help.

i keep getting the feeling that the chiefs wouldn't mind drafting an OL with the #5 (Albert/Clady)

their OL use to be the best and now it is awful and has exposed LJ.

our OL is functional and defense is a greater need especially since we'll have to go against Manning again.

Why didn't you tell us sooner? Everyone's been dying to know what position we'll pick for a very long time. You could have put to rest a lot of conjecture and debate!

As far as the "trade down" rumor goes - its all academic until the draft starts - if Ellis has become trade fodder that's excellent news... I still think its just Ryan and McFadden as the players other teams would trade up for.
