I read something about their weighing the top OT's available, and Williams was among the three names mentioned. He might be the best pass blocker in the draft, but he's not all that great of a run blocker, and Kansas City should be looking for someone who's a better run blocker, with Johnson in their backfield.
Some noteworthy picks:
The Rams take Chris Long: One of the best defensive players in the draft, and he could very well end up being the best player in this class when all is said and done. Carriker and Long on the same line would be a very strong combo.
Dorsey goes to Atlanta: Seems reasonable, and their new GM could very well be looking to build from the lines out, since it worked so well for the last team that employed him.
Oakland takes McFadden: They have bigger needs, but this is Al Davis we're talking about, and this has been their rumored pick for awhile. Some news paper from the area has actually been saying McFadden will be the pick.
Gholston to the Jets: I don't really like the idea of Kaczur and Light having to face Pace and Gholston twice a year, but hopefully the Patriots will add another pass rusher of their own, and upgrade the O-line.
The Patriots select Sedrick Ellis: Right about now I'm wondering if Alex Marvez was correct, when he said Ellis could slide down the board because of "undisclosed issues", and if those "issues" are what has been hinted...
Rivers goes to Kansas City at 17th overall: Could make sense for them, especially after they already selected their O-linemen. Maybe they can find Allen's replacement later in the draft?
Aqib Talib goes to the Eagles at 19th overall, despite having tested positive for marijuana
three times? That's not even bringing up his footwork issues, and lapses.
Mayo's selected by the Steelers at 23rd: even though they have bigger needs, their front office has shown a lot of interest in LB prospects. They've been sniffing around Groves, too.
Dallas selects Felix Jones at 22: Seems everyone believes they're going to select Felix Jones. Am I the only person who thinks they're more likely to go another route? I could actually see them selecting Chris Johnson, before they would select Felix Jones, and I don't think Jerry suddenly has wet dreams over every Arkansas product in the draft. By the way, I noticed Michael Lombardi has Chris Johnson going to the Chargers in the first round.
the Jags take Groves at 26th overall: They've been interested in him, and I could see this actually being their pick. It would also go along with what Groves, and some others have said about his draft stock, and that recent procedure not dropping him out of the first round.
Flowers makes the first round, when the Cowboys select him at 28th. The funny thing about this, is that my brother (the Cowboys fan) has basically fallen in love with Brandon Flowers, and wants the Cowboys to select him. I like Flowers too, and while he doesn't really seem to meet Jerry's "wow" standards when looking at his size and timed speed, the Cowboys would be getting a very good CB.
