Goodell: New tape would mean more punishment

So Goodell once again said the exact same thing that he said back in September and has said 500,000 times since?

This certainly deserves it own story on every sports web site and a new thread.

Talk about nothing to see here.

Agreed

He said these exact same words during half time of the Chargers game and now it's news, we should be laughing at the media's constant attempt at making old news a breaking story not worrying about Goodell having an agenda, which i doubt. Unless you can call cleaning up a PR mess he contributed too as having an agenda !

This is just the beginning of the sh!t storm that the media is going to inundate football fans with just in time for Draft Weekend. I hope this is all put to bed very soon.

I do want to use it because even if we taped the walkthrough (which I don't think we did), I think we've been overpunished already given that "spying" on practices, etc, has be done and gone unpunished through the history of football.

That disappoints me. We can point the finger all we want but in the end if our coach breaks the rules then he should be penalized. I don't like to see our coach penalized, but some responsibility has to be taken for infractions.

Goodell better step carefully - I don't think Walsh has anything but we all know that Belichick knows enough after 32 years to make Spygate look like a walk in the part. He could break the NFL wide open and if Goodell f*cks him I have little doubt he'll do just that. IMO he took one for the league in September, he's not going to go down alone for a misdemeanor.

I too thought similarly and was convinced that every other team has similar stuff going on and that BB took the high road - i.e. 'took one for the league' in Sept. - by not spilling the beans in public even though it has done irreparable damage to his name.

But, if that is the indeed the case, why would Mr. Kraft and BB offer a sincere apology to the other team owners recently? Aren't we the ones who got unfairly punished and are still taking a big hit to our name and reputation? Curious to know what others think. Apologies if this has been brought up and discussed in other threads earlier.

I dunno, but I think being fined more than enough to pay off the average American homeowner's mortgage is penalty enough for aggravated videotaping.

As I stated, I agree but I believe the penalty is already over harsh.

The Broncos and 49ers lost something like a 3rd round pick for salary cap cheating which puts additional players on the team. All we have done so far is a legal activity (stealing signs) in an illegal way. A #1 pick ? As I've said before it's like being charged with Vehicular Homocide for speeding.

Remember, though--the owners gave them a standing ovation at the end. What do you make of that fact?

Just remember that almost everybody thought the Pats got off EASY, maybe they really did.

At least Specter has shut up for now

Ha ha ha, make another condescending, flatulent generalization.

Well, you generalized that anyone that doesn't want Kraft to use his influence is a troll so back at ya buddy.

i wonder if Specter attends the meeting on May 13.

No, just you. And I won't put words in your mouth.

Goodell might be the biggest bag of douche ever.

That guy is in desperate need of an ass-kicking.

Having a Jets employee run the NFL is like if the Colts had their President run the Competition Committee.

oh wait.

yeah more and more i just want to stop watching this rigged bull**** game. But i can't give up on the Pats, regardless of how rigged and pathetic this league is.

I don't care what "almost everybody" says. I care what I think and that's what I have stated. "Almost everybody" would be happy if the Patriots plane crashed, quite honestly.

I think it was more to do with Mr. Kraft's sincere words that moved everyone. And you forgot to mention that typical Pats haters were praising Mr. Kraft right after that speech.

Doubt if either meant that the owners were applauding us for keeping quiet for all the smears and slanders that we have and will continue to endure.

i hope you are right.

Florio had something written about that months ago, saying that he heard that if Spygate breaks again, and there's another big deal, BB will spill his guts.

but i believe that was before they released the Matt Walsh b.s. days before the Superbowl. scumbags.

Having the tape of the walk through is not enough IMO to penalize us further. He should have to prove that the team told him to film it. How do we know he didn't do it on his own since he is an avid collector of sports memorabilia? He allegedly stole the AV field goal kick to win the SB. I wouldn't put it past him to have wanted the walkthrough footage for his collection.
