The front office will do whatever they think is best. If they think
McFadden>A.Peterson. They will draft hm. If they think we need to protect Brady. Hello OL. If want a replacement for Seymour and his contract next year. DE.

No, they won't draft McFadden simply because they think he's a better runner than Peterson (believe it or not, that's not all that far removed from saying that if Ryan is the best player on the board at #7, the Pats should take him). But they would draft him if they felt that he would produce the most value for the team. That, though, seems unlikely to me, at least at #7.
