Now that the Chiefs have #5 and #17, I wonder if we might trade up to #5 to get ahead of the Jets and take either Gholston or McFadden. Sitting at #7 it's possible the players we most covet are gone. Sitting at #5, there HAS to be someone we'd love to get.

Why do you want either of them, but especially McFadden?

Maybe the Chiefs may want to draft Gholston for themselves. And i don't really see the Pats trading up.

I'd trade up for Chris Long, but probably let Gholston fall to us.

I look at it more like the Chiefs have two guys they covet up high and now they have the ammo to come back up and double down. Say C.long at 5 and then back up 7 from 17 for M. Ryan. You dont get rid of an all pro unless youve got lofty plans, it's not like Allen underachieved, he's a great player...

That makes a heck of alot of sense, but I'm pretty sure they would have to climb a little higher than 10 (assuming by 7 spots up from 17 you mean 10) to draft Ryan. I think your scenerio is very possible, if they trade up to the pats spot or higher.
Here's hoping for a bidding war between Atlanta and KC, if old Matty falls to our spot :singing:

Even better since those are the 2 teams with the most available to offer

Would the Chiefs be wiling to shell out all that money for draftees? #5 money then #7 money

Its possible.
Who else are they going to give it to? Their star QB? Their shut down corner? Their premier pass rusher ...oh wait, he's gone.
Unless L.J. is slated to make $75 Million next year, i'd say they have the cap room.
Most teams have at least 2-3 highly paid players.
Of course i'm sure they screw it up and have 2 mediocre players with huge cap hits.
End result..... 5 more years of top 5 picks for KC
