On EEI this morning.

No offense to Schefter who is great at getting information, but he's gotta come up with something better than that.

"Write this down, Quentin Groves" he said, when asked who would be the bust of the draft. "There's a lot of questions about him, I have a gut feeling."

D&C look at their own information "Quentin Groves....can't find him". Schefter: "Yeah, he's a defensive end, late round pick" :bricks: Presumably he meant late FIRST round pick, and presumably meant, "undersized defensive end who would convert to OLB in a 3-4".

I mean, come on, I have a job and I'd like to think I have a life, if I have the time to learn about prospects that the Patriots might be interested in for round 7 or UFA, then can Adam Schefter, a guy who earns a living at this shyt, learn a little bit more about Quentin Groves? I just don't get how all these NFL pundits can get paid for their cookie-cutter shyt.

Hmm, did I post this in here? If so, can a mod move it to the draft forum??

He also thinks that Brandon Merriweather should and will play cornerback for the Pats this season. We all know he played a lot better when he was at his natural position which is safety.

A lot of people think that, which is why he's falling to the 2nd round in value recently.

I really hope we can pick up a corner (Jenkins, Cason) and Groves.

How is he the bust of the draft? I have heard all of his potential weaknesses scrutinized beyond belief.

I personally think he is a top 15 talent.

Myself: Schefter= Idiot...

Honestly, what does this guy know about evaluating talent? Hey, aren't the Jets going to be looking for a new GM soon.....:D

Shefter is good at reporting breaking news about trades and signings and that's about it. He has a lot of inside contacts to several organizations so when he says something about a possible trade/signing/draft pick, I take his opinion seriously. However, that is a completely different arena. Shefter is horrible when it comes to predicting whether or not somebody can play or will be a bust. Probably because the closest this guy has ever come to a joke strap is when he is sniffing it after he sneaks into the team's locker room.

This is going to be egg on face if his prediction goes the other way.

Considering how far down Groves fell I have to think he was off the Patriots board due to the off field issues because as a talent where the Jags got him was great value and the Pats certainly had the ammo to trade up and get him.
