All I can say it YUCK!
#7-Derrick Harvey-to me he does not fit our system at all. I do not think he has that ability to play OLB in the patriots system

#62-Tracy Porter- To me, he is not physical enough for the system, I could live with the pick, but not my favorite

#69-Beau Bell- Too early for him here, way to early.

#94-John Greco- look, he is not as talented as Kazcur coming out of the same school, so he does not help, plus look who is picked 2 spots later. That is who I would take.

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

Harvey - I trust that the Pats wouldn't take him without a good idea of his ability to play OLB. On talent alone, don't have an issue.

Porter - I would comment on his intelligence but I don't want to offend fence posts everywhere.

Bell - Senior Bowl and Combine are the biggest days of a prospect's life...and Bell showed up to these events looking out of shape. I've said this in previous posts: I don't know what Bell brings to the table, but I know there isn't much left when he leaves.

Greco - Agree with your comments.

I probably wouldn't be out on the ledge if these were the picks...but I would likely make sure there was room out there just in case.

Yet another draft guru that just does not understand how BB works.

Porter is a pure man to man guy and the Pats play 95% soft zone.

Harvey... aaah on a 4-3 team he'd be great but the Pats run a 3-4 system. So obviously their writers are not doing their homework.

As I've said before, if either Gholston or Long (or both) are still available at 4/5, I can't imagine them not at least trying to move up (I'm not saying they will).

But, to quote Mr. Wright:
Mangini is trying to replicate what they did in New England . . .
If Mangini wants to make the JEST defense look like the Pats D did during his one season as DC, I'm all for it. :D

OTOH,

. . . and Long could be Mike Vrabel Version 2.0.

I do not want to see this happen unless Mr. Long has a Flying Elvis on his helmet.

Half the 2007 secondary was given their walking papers and a new secondary coach was brought in. How can anyone outside of Belichick know what the plan is for the 2008 secondary? Capers certainly didn't run 95% soft zone in his previous coaching gigs.

I wish i could get paid to write up a mock draft that didn't require any though or research at all....

B.O.R- Nice to see you posting again over here.

But Scott Wright is still one of the best in the business. So instead of crying, tell him why you think his mock need refining.
