this is my draft board if we are picking at 7 (assuming we cant trade down).

1. Chris Long
2. Jake Long
3. Darren McFadden
4. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
5. Keith Rivers
6. Vernon Gholston
7. Glenn Dorsey
8. Mike Jenkins
9. Leodis McKelvin
10. Ryan Clady

The only player i would trade up for is Chris Long if he managed to slip to KC's pick at #5. Our high 3rd rounder would allow us to leapfrog the Jets and take him. Yes i would take McFadden, hes an elite player and comboing him with LMoney would be too much for teams, i would take a CB in round two in this case.

You're a genious, we're spot on 1-7, we just differ on those last 3 (I just can't find a place for Mike Jenkins in my Big 10)

1. Chris Long
2. Jake Long
3. Darren McFadden
4. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
5. Keith Rivers
6. Vernon Gholston
7. Glenn Dorsey
8. Leodis McKelvin
9. Brandon Albert
10. Ryan Clady

I think you're both nuts to have dorsey/gholston below McFadden/DRC for the Pats. Assuming this is the order of who they would select, I think its very off. Then again what the hell do I now :)

we are on the same wavelength bro, riding the same wave. I feel ya. Albert was real close with me too but i would go corner cause its too high for a guard, but if he were to play right tackle then i agree with ya.

I will go along with the majority saying "you are nuts" for considering a CB that high--especially a div II guy.
Rivers might be a wild card,
Albert is a much safer pick.
Ellis is likely great trade bait.....and I would trade up with KC if there was a guy we wanted simply because they are going to trade that pick to someone who might want the same guy....
The fact that we are bringing in alot of lower rd CBs says alot. BB today revealed that he didnt like the gap between 7 and 62, but that he wouldnt want to get back too far in the draft. He emphasized getting VALUE, which all but eliminates CBs from consideration. Value is a guy who is going to be a all pro and is on the field for every play. A difference maker who could play from day 1 is VALUE. All those things together just lead me to believe he wants to go with the most versitile OL guy(Albert)and we might be able to trade back a few spots to get him, though I would love to see us trade up for C.Long.
So, UP for Long
Down for Albert
And Rivers/Gholston are the wild cards.

I think you should never post your draft board again, cause that is just plain awful.

Were the Chargers "nuts" for taking Antonio Cromartie who was coming off a torn ACL and played no college ball? The same things are being said about his cousin Dominique. It doesnt matter that he played div II ball, he can play at any level.

Rivers might be a wild card,

agreed.

Albert is a much safer pick.

we dont need a guard or tackle as much as a corner. I dont feel like there is anything unsafe about drafting DRC, he fills the #1 corner spot, ill take that over a olineman right now.

All the high CBs were brought in as well, bringing in the lower CBs doesnt say anything other than who they may like to take in the lower rounds. Id love to trade down and pick up a second but my board was based on if we are picking at 7 and couldnt move the pick. The better option is to trade down and pick up a 2nd thats what i got us doing in my mock but if we may not be able to trade down and have to pick at 7.

who do you suggest we take at 7? Ghoulston?

Let me guess, you played CB in high school right? You are 5'7 175?
I really dont think you are realistic and you dont take criticism well.
The fact is we won a super bowl with guys fresh off the street, and now we have Capers to hide our weaknesses.
Cromartie is an apple, but he is not necessarily the same type of apple as his namesake. You are way too young to remember Thiesman changing his name to rhime with Heisman.....to no avail....
No way do we draft ANYONE who wieghs in at 184 with the 7th pick in the draft, this is PROFESSIONAL football.

Actually i was a CB in highschool lol for real. Played varisty CB and WR, also kicked field goals cause nobody else could. Had 4 INTs in one game once, it made the front of USA today paper (just a small box at the top listing the top performances), so yea i was pimp.

But anyways no we havent won SB's without great CB play, in 01 and 03 i really dont think we win the SB without the stellar play of Ty Law, who was a 1st round pick BTW, and in 04 Law was out but Samuel really stepped it up.

We have crapola for CBs right now, we will get abused by any good team out there, they will just spread us out and pick us apart. OLB is not a huge priority, we have Adalius outside taking over for Colvin which is an upgrade, and Vrabel on the other side who is solid but not spectacular. He could easily be upgraded, but its not as big as an issue everyone makes it out to be. Id only draft a guy to replace Vrabel if there was a clear-cut stud in this draft, and i just dont see that.

DRC is an exceptional athlete, he has every ingredient you need to be a lockdown corner, hes got height, rangy long arms, elite hands and ball skills, world class speed, unbelievable feet and balance for a guy his size, strong and intelligent. He needs to be coached up no doubt but hes a bright kid and is passionate about football. Its would be "nuts" to pass on him when we need a #1 corner for the future.

Look, if we walk into the RCA Dome in November with the likes of Ellis Hobbs and Fernando Bryant as our starting corners with crapola for a nickel back, we are F'd to be quite honest. Peyton will light up that secondary like no one's business. A lockdown corner in this league, these days is critical, unless ofcourse you have a trememdous pass rush like the NYG, if you have a mediocre PR or have to rush by creative blitzes with NO lock down corner, you are done. Ask Mel Kiper who his #1 corner is right now?

DRC is the smoothest, silkiest athlete, I've seen in pads that I can ever remember. He's long, hands like Krazy glue, gazelle-speed and grace, ball instincts that can't be taught and quite frankly he has alot of the traits that would make him a great Patriot.

#1, he's versatile, he played safety during alot of the senior bowl practices and actually played safety during the game, he can play any position in the secondary, check mark #1 with BB. Not only that, he's a tremendous (TD waiting to happen) kick/punt returner, so right off the bat, our KOReturn issue is resolved instead of having to stick Hobbs or CJack back there.

#2, he's a humble, humble, quiet kid. He doesn't talk alot, his coaches say he likes to keep to himself and stay out of trouble. You will never see him veer off onto the "Bad path", he's a great kid who WANTS to be a great football player, he's obsessed with it. I've read everything his coaches have said about him. I read where his cousin Antonio called him to congratulate him on his great Senior Bowl and Combine and he told Antonio the following, "I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE YOU". I have no doubt in my mind that he will be. NONE.

[the following, "I WANT TO BE JUST LIKE YOU".

Why some fans are just idiots. I bet you guys would of taken John Theirry over Willie McGinest too. Wake up, if his last name was just Rodgers you wouldn't care about him. DRC could be good, but it be a HUGE gamble. Makes zero sense. You'd take John Mobley over Ray Lewis I bet too, or Lamar King over Patrick Kerney. Get off this DRC bandwagon. He's got some skills, but he wasn't even a shutdown corner at Tenn State.

Ya, I guess you're right, why would Mel Kiper put him at the top of his DB board, you know a heck of alot more than Mel. Give me a break. You wouldn't know a great athlete with potential if it smacked you in the face.

What team does Mel Kiper GM? Have you went over his history and looked at his books from the past? He's wrong alot more then you think. Face it your just an idiot who doesn't watch College Football and fell in love with the DRC hype, just because you saw his cousin's highlights this year in the pros. He wasn't even considered a shut down corner in college. Wake up!

I'm willing to bet anything that you didn't even know when the Senior Bowl was on, never mind watching it. Did you watch the game at all ? Mel Kiper has more college football player knowledge is his left big toe nail than you could ever even dream up. I guess this guy Tom Shaw, also has no idea what he's talking about:

Tom Shaw, of Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex, handled Rodgers-Cromartie's pre-draft preparation. Shaw has worked with 94 first-round draft picks and has compared Rodgers-Cromartie to former NFL star CB Deion Sanders. "I think Dominique is a Hall of Famer," Shaw said. "The way this kid can react to the football, the way he adjusts ... He's the best receiver I have in this camp. He's a kid that can do everything."

Actually, I watched every practice as well on the NFL network too. Your just an idiot living in your mother's basement who has no clue about football. Can you make an observation for yourself ? Or do you just follow other people opinions? What about Mike Mayock

1. Leodis McKelvin Troy
2. Aqib Talib Kansas
3. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie Tennessee State
4. Mike Jenkins South Florida
5. Brandon Flowers

I'd have Jenkins over DRC

Also your boy Mel, has him being the 3rd CB taken in the 1st round. So why don't you go do some research.

Wow, what a brain surgeon, NFL-guru you are huh, get your Mel Kiper facts straight before you post non sense. Here's Mel's latest Big Board, now tell me who his top corner is:

Is this his latest mock, or some cached page you managed to find from 2 months ago? Regardless, his latest big board has DRC as his #1 corner. Draftdaddy calls DRC special, here's their latest mock

http://www.draftdaddy.com/MD/MDstat.cfm

Call it what you want, BRiz and myself think he's destined for greatness, some others like Patschick and a few others think the same thing. Briz and I would take him at 7 if (Dorsey/CLong/JLong/Ellis/Gholston) are off the board, but hey, that's us. Others are skeptical because of the TSU factor? So be it.

i am tired of all the DRC arguing on this place I think He very well coould be a good player in a couple years with the right coaching but he is not there yet he is raw and raw players are not usually worth of a top 10 pick a top 10 pick needs to make in impact very fast to be wothy of it (more often then not). i think if we trade down he might be worth a mid 1st round pick. and most of why he as flown up so many draft board is the C because how often do you see player from the lower teir of CFB taken that high it is a rarity because they have not played aganst the top compation out there and that scares NFL teams. And before you attack me cause i am not as in love with your binky as others I am going to say it again i think he going to be a great player just not a top 10 player. For the record kkiper had at least Aqib Talib ahead of DRC in his mock drafts cause that's who he always had for the Pats at 7

God damn i'll be glad when it's the 26th already
