What other reason would Jerry Jones up his offer for Pacman unless there was another team seriously interesting in Acquiring Adam?

I think there must be word that either New England or Green Bay is making some kind of threat to the Cowboys proposal of a mid draft pick so they have to up the ante to another pick in 2009,otherwise Jerry Jones would have to be an idiot to throw away an additional pick and possibly damaging his teams future while gambling on a troubled player and throwing away a possible future all pro in next years draft unless there was word that another team had a slightly better offer, possibly an earlier pick in this years draft.

Jerry Jones is a very smart owner and one of the best,There is a reason why he upped the ante - New England may be the reason, then again maybe its Green Bay but theres no way he ups an offer if his Cowboys are the ONLY team interested.

Yeah... no. I highly doubt we have any interest whatsoever in Pacman Jones. Even though Goodell said he was "impressed" with Jones' turnaround.

I'd say another reason would be that Tennessee hasn't been willing to accept what Dallas has offered so far; other team or no other team.

I heard the Titans wanted a 3rd or 4th rounder

We apparently had no interest in Moss about a year ago.. :)

Moss and Dillon never liked to "make it rain".

Both really didn't have off field issues, they both just didn't like playing for the teams they were on.

But we still heard rumblings in the media about it the weeks prior to the signing. We have heard NO rumblings about this whatsoever except that we aren't interested in him and Jones has "always wanted to play for the Cowboys".

You have a point with Moss (most of his off field issues were childish), but you should take a look at Corey's rap sheet.

The Patriots have always let themselves be used in trade rumors if somebody else want to up the ante.

Specifically, that's my interpretation of the annual rumor that the Pats will trade high up in the draft.

If the Cowboys get Pacman. That fills a hole at cb. Would they be more likely to trade up to get that rb then? Just thinking out loud.

As much talent as he has, and how good he would make our secondary Talent Wise...I think the guy is a baffoon! An imbecile. How are you going to make millions of dollars to play a game, a DREAM JOB, and screw it all up, just so you can see some boobies! I mean the man got suspended for an entire season, for trouble he would find himself in while at the damn stripclub, and he WENT BACK!

He cant be that smart. I dont even want to think about him here...i HATE him...

Didn't he get in trouble in West Virginia. Man, you have to actively look for trouble in West Virginia.

It's the same reason he gave TO a three year deal with significant up front money when NO ONE in the NFL was interested. He's trying to make the player feel his love (I overpaid for you when no one else would because I beeeelieve in you) so he will be a good boy once the deal is done. Jerry surrounds his turds with a cocoon of support that appeals to their inner child - financial and emotional - and then hopes for the best. That's one of the many reasons folks predicted Tuna wouldn't last long in Dallas, it's the anthesis of his motivational style. He'll take a shot at the occasional talented turd, but only if he believes said turd has buttons he can push and is man enough to respond. Bill will also take a shot but only if he believes said turd has bottomed out and is finally self motivated to prove he's worth the effort. Three very different approached to turd management.

Guys like PacMan and 85 haven't bottomed out or suffered enough yet for Bill to work his management magic on them. Maybe in a couple of more years after another failure or disappointment they will be positioned for him to offer them a last best shot.

Pacman paid 'extortion' cash in Vegas shooting
Associated Press

LAS VEGAS -- Adam "Pacman" Jones paid "extortion" money to a 29-year-old man arrested for a Las Vegas strip club shooting that left a club employee paralyzed, police said.

Arvin Kenti Edwards, of Renton, Wash., allegedly used go-betweens to reach Jones, who paid $15,000 in two installments after the shooting, according to a police report obtained Monday.

"He paid $15,000 to his friends, who advised him that if he didn't pay the money then this guy would come after him," said Robert Langford, Jones' lawyer in Las Vegas.

I wanted him.

But I'm selfish - and seeing as the Cowboys are the frontrunners here, if we don't get him then I don't want anyone to.
