It only makes sense: If the media and Walsh were the eager and willing messengers for tales during Super Bowl week, why not when the hot lights of the next NFL stage sets up shop again in April?

You ruined my day. I thought Matt Walsh is dead

Ah, I see what you're saying. So if the Pats take Joe Flacco with the #7 pick, we're blaming it on Matt Walsh and Specter getting in their heads. No, j/k. Personally, I can see the Walsh story resurfacing by Week 1. Actually, Week 4 at the latest.

If it does, at this point, it wouldn't surprise me to hear that it's because the Patriots are suing the Herald and/or the Herald Hack.

Seriously, as I've said numerous times before, if Walsh actually had a tape of the walkthrough--after all, the Pats already admitted to all the in-game taping, and Goodell said the penalty covered everything they had admitted to doing--why hasn't it come out yet? Walsh would have nothing to lose by producing it (yeah, in theory, the Pats could sue, but could you imagine what would happen if they did?).

Honestly, who cares, I've grown so think skinned as far as this crap goes, nothing bothers me when it comes up, I just smile thinking of the herd who buy into it that the media is preaching too

I do have to say if a story comes out from either ESPN or the New York Times next Friday, I think it is time for people to start to question their motives. It seems that they are the ones who seem to be coming out with these stories right before every major league event since the Friday before the Super Bowl. I don't think one other organization has 'broken" a story in the Walsh case then.

I do fully expect one of those two organizations to have a story next Friday. My guess it will be yet another story how the league is stalling in letting Walsh talk. I know that story has been underplayed by those two organization, but I think that may be the new angle they will take with this story.

Predicted this all along, he will get a little more face time, the talking heads will have something to talk about.

BUT... BUT... QUESTIONS REMAIN TO BE ANSWERED!!!

agree totally. after the SB, when was the last time this came up? During the owners meetings, when the league "got together." The SAME thing will happen starting either friday afternoon the 25th or Saturday morning BEFORE the draft. Remember, the draft is 3pm, so that gives people at least 6 hours to get talk out of it before the draft.

To be fair to the media (even if they don't return the favor), I think the Pats were planning to say somethng at the owners' meetings, regardless.

That said, if it does come up just before the draft. . . .

ctpatsfans77....i wouldn't just include media....i'd add "other outside people". Whether specter, another "source" (i.e matt walsh :) ) !

It does take 2 to tango!

You're point about the mtgs if very valid though.

People are blaming Godell for this, but I think its just a case of the media jumped on something that was nothing, and are just hoping for something so they dont look like a bunch of idiots that are already.

Although I think they will mention it in passing, unless something new comes up (which it won't - the guy obviously has nothing or what he has is going to get him in trouble [i.e. stolen property]), they are going to look like losers beating a dead horse. All we need is one good story to emerge (a blockbuster trade, an unexpected pick, etc.) and the media whores will move on.

Poor Specter has a lot of other things to worry about now. Even he has moved on.

I think they are more likely to "revisit" it before the first game, and certainly before the Jets game, if only to say (with dramatic music playing in the background) that we'll never know what Matt Walsh knows as people in high places have kept him from talking (even though it will be his own attys who have kept him from talking to avoid him getting sued). Blah Blah Blah. Even fans of other teams must be tired of this (non) story.
