It's not on the website...where did they report this?

Is it possible that the NFL doens't give ESPN any Pats MNF this year? That would be highly funny, and a little FU about the way they have been crucifying the Pats and the NFL over the whole thing.

It was on the 11:00AM SportsCenter

Oh, ok. I wasn't questioning you, I am just used to thier website reporting all the disparaging info first.

Besides, my house is usually tuned into Nickelodeon or Noggin on weekends. It's nice, they are Spygate Free :D

ESP what ? is that a cable station or something.

Wait! I was away...we LOST????

No prob...check back at 5, 6, 7, 8, 11:30 and 1AM :)

You know, since they have so much original programming. ;)

This shouldn't bother me but it does.

The NFL has been doing this since the early '90's. I wonder how many people in Senegal think the Bills won 4 straight Super Bowls? I can't recall seeing any story's about that.

As a Bills fan, I can vouch for the fact that such stories existed and got trotted out every year at least once. The sense of persecution on this board is really funny sometimes. Who was complaining about ESPN when you all got your very own ticker heading earlier this year (which I've never seen before)--you were the biggest media story of the season, getting all kinds of pub on the way up (enough to make some of the rest of us gag), so after a game like that of Feb. 3, you should expect some repercussions in terms of negative pub.....

Gainzo--just noticed your sig. That's pretty sad, actually. When is the League going to realize that it's the average fan they should be catering to and not the corporate suits (even if I play one myself during the week, but I at least make sure he stays home on Sundays when I let my inner Bills fan watch the game, the one who's been screaming his lungs out for them since 1971)?

I wasn't taking a dig at the Bills. I was just trying to make a point.

My sig? It is what it is. You guys are lucky up in Buffalo with some of the cheapest ticket prices in the League.

I thought/think BB should buy 100 or whatever Giants SB42 tshirts and have the Pats wear them during games; to serve as a reminder of what happens when you don't show up to play your best.

We all have read or heard that the Pats are indeed denying access to ESPN & the Herald (or at least their beat writer).

I wonder if this is really true??

If so, I think it would be really awesome and I would support this action by the Patriots 100%.

Anybody know if this is really happening??

One can only hope. ;)

We'll find out next week for sure.

Probably because this is the first time the Pats have been on the losing side since TV has gone global in coverage. Most people wouldn't really notice unless it was their team involved and combine that with the absolute flood of TV news channels and their need to fill time.

Actually, I remember seeing an article about this *last* year (i.e., before SB42).

The story itself isn't bothersome. The decision to air it on April 13th is.

Like you said, there are people around the world who received Falcons, Seahawks, Titans, Bears, etc Super Bowl champion shirts over the years. This is nothing new. While I don't recall seeing pictures and stories about those team's shirts like the ones that were published back in February, at least those stories was timely.

Doing a story about this in April? That's odd.

The whole O line should be forced to watch Brady getting clobbered over and over again, while a device is holding their eyes open and the soundtrack to Friends is blaring in the back.
That would be motivation enough to never let that happen again.

I mean, are you kidding me? We're almost 75 days since the Super Bowl, and this is a fact that everyone knows. The Super Bowl merchandise for the losing team goes off to third world countries.

So why report it? Definitely adding fueld to the fire.

Because we were the bully of the NFL in 2007. When the bully gets his jaw broken and he's lying in the dirt crying, everybody laughs-- as they should.

The 2007 New England Patriots are a punchline. We talked a big game and that's all fine and dandy, unless you can't back it up. We didn't back it up. I loved that the Pats were shoving their boots up the asses of other teams all season. I loved that the Ravens were so sick about being so close to stopping the Patriots freight train, but being so far away ultimately. I loved that everyone else hated us. We weren't the Jets who no one else cared about either way. We were loathed. People wanted Tom Brady and Randy Moss to lose their hands in wood chipper accidents. It was great to laugh at people who hated the Patriots. They had the last laugh, though. And they can laugh all they want. They earned it because we let them have that opportunity. 18-1 is a sick joke, and I appreciate dark humor as much as anyone. I don't begrudge ESPN at laughing at us at all.

Rubbing it in. Plain and simple. I'm sure being in Bristol, CT, that there are more than a few Giants fans calling the shots at ESPN.

I like the concept. It's questionable, though, because c@ckiness was a huge part of the 2007 Patriots juggernaut. Tom Brady even talked about it publicly on WEEI. He said that it was important to get a psychological advantage on the opponents-- like Bird telling people competing against him in a 3-point shootout that they were fighting for 2nd place (or Pippen telling Karl Malone that the Postman doesn't deliver on Sundays during a key moment at the free throw line). Brady said they wanted teams to be scared of them, to whatever extent possible. The Pats were about shock and awe.

I wish they'd do a story on the old t-shirts and hats that were replaced by the Patriots' gear. You know, the ones that said: "New York Yankees, 2007 World Champions."

Or the ones that said "New York Yankees 2004 ALCS Winner".

I will always think the Yankees 04 choke job was alot worse than the Pats choke. The Pats played one bad game at a really bad time. The Yankees only had to win 1 out of 4 and couldn't do it.
