I mean, are you kidding me? We're almost 75 days since the Super Bowl, and this is a fact that everyone knows. The Super Bowl merchandise for the losing team goes off to third world countries.

So why report it? Definitely adding fueld to the fire.

must be a slow sunday...boring!

The thing is that they give away the Super Bowl loser's merchandise every year to a third world country, but this is the first year I can think of that I have seen multiple stories (or any for that matter) covering the people of that country wearing the merchandise.

Probably because this is the first time the Pats have been on the losing side since TV has gone global in coverage. Most people wouldn't really notice unless it was their team involved and combine that with the absolute flood of TV news channels and their need to fill time.

I don't get it. This was reported ad nauseum the week after the Super Bowl...why bring it back up? And why not report where the Packers NFC Champions and Chargers AFC Champions shirts were shipped?

I think I will be sticking with NFLN for the draft.

Well, they have to wait about 2 weeks before their next "bombshell" in the Matt Walsh saga. So they need filler. They can't bring up Walsh again until the Friday before the draft.

Yea, me too. If you ever needed any more evidence that people/writers hate and are jealous of the Patriots, there it is.

$10 bucks says when we get to the Super Bowl this year Belichick pulls this out and reminds them of what could happen.

Man if they need some t-shirt story to remind them there are bigger issues.

ESPN must have dial up or something

More likely the pats are denying them access for the upcoming draft press conferences. And this is their way of getting even.

You know the thing about that is it really only slights the fans who are looking for anything they can get this time of the year.

Won't bother this fan one bit. I haven't watched that channel since September.

The New York Post reported on that with photos about a week after the Super Bowl. Doing it now is just stupid. We need another F-You tour of the NFL this year, this time completing the job.

i think that's pretty close to the truth, though I don't think they're "getting even" as much as they are trying to print anything that gets a reaction from Patriots management, since it seems that ESPN and the Horrald have both been frozen out by the Patriots management. I think that both of these media outlets now realize that the Patriots are still the best story in the NFL (until the Colts, Giants or Steelers repeat, they are the face of the League) and that there is a price for repeated bias in reporting about the franchise.

This was reported by other news outlets about one week after the Super Bowl.

So effectively this means that ESPN is improving their news coverage, now able to cover breaking news within three months of when it actually happens.

I look forward to learning who the Patriots drafted come August.

It's not on the website...where did they report this?

Is it possible that the NFL doens't give ESPN any Pats MNF this year? That would be highly funny, and a little FU about the way they have been crucifying the Pats and the NFL over the whole thing.

Is not having any Monday night games punishment? If it is, how do we get the NFL mad enough not to give ESPN Patriots games until the end of time? Monday night home games are the worst.

We all have read or heard that the Pats are indeed denying access to ESPN & the Herald (or at least their beat writer).

I wonder if this is really true??

If so, I think it would be really awesome and I would support this action by the Patriots 100%.

Anybody know if this is really happening??

I imagine ESPN would throw quite a fit if they didn't get any Pats games. Controversy = Ratings.

And yes, Monday night games are the drizzling sh!ts. I hate sitting through Sundays knowing I have to wait a whole other day for a Pats game.
